If they aint gonna offer him a contract, I would cash in on him, Sell him this summer and try get the £5m we paid for him back. We are over stocked with CM's Nolan, Tiote, Guthrie, Gosling, Smith, Vuckic. And we was only playing RW to cover a lack of quality in that area, mainly down to HBA's injury, Zenga looks like he can do a job there and theres Ferguson as well. Plus if we sign one of Gervinho, Menez or the Zog, Joey aint gona be playing outwide. So sell now and use the money to strenthen other areas ie RB

Joey Barton is trending on Twitter now....

I think its just his agent trying to get NUFC to give him a better deal.

Same thing happened with Steven Taylor.

Hmm, reading these change my opinion a bit, wanted 100k+ at city? Sounds like he could be asking us for way too much then, fair enough if we say no if he's being stupid I suppose.

    Still... :(

It is a footballing decision because one of our best players is going to leave as a result of it. A financial decision would be arranging sponsorship deal, season ticket prices and transfer budgets. The manager should decide how he distributes the wage bill in the same way that he should choose how he spends his transfer budget. How does Llambias know what Barton's value to the club is? He knows **** all about football.

Aye but he's on the last year of his contract, if we try to sell too high then teams will just wait until his contract runs out, which means his value is decreased

Well maybe Ashley & Lambiarse finally got hump with Barton calling them ****s etc at public appearances etc, I said it might happen, hopefully someone will come in with an offer and we can at least get some money for him if he's going. Would explain why we're signing a young centre mid though.

12 months left on his contract = massive decline in £m teams willing to pay.

Probably wont get much for Jose either..

Remember that the agent has only said they'd 'indicated' there's no deal, then ran straight to the biggest news outlet.

Obviously this is true as we got relegated.. destroyed the championship. and had a pretty ****ing good return to the premier league.

also on ashley. yeah he may be a **** but he knows what he is doing... you dont become a self made billionaire without having some knowledge.

35 mill for carroll was a price no other owner would have turned down given his age... ask yourself by how much his value is going to rise over the years... carrolls value has hit its peak it wont get much higher now.

There's no point cashing in on him because we'll get **** all for him and there's a chance he might sign a deal next summer. Nobody will pay him more than £50k with his track record.

He's also nearly 30 and with his history I can't see anybody paying more than the 5m we did.

  18. Well Joey wants to sign a new contract, all that's standing in his way are the two fat ****s running our club.

I can't believe Ashley calls himself a business man. Points = £££ and how many points have we got without him?

The two fat ****s don't know anything about football and go **** themselves.

Only in your head mate. 28 yr old in last year of contract with a reputation for indiscipline & has served time for assault etc, the rest of the world don't see him with your Joey tinted specs. I think we'd be lucky to get £5M for him.
