A bit surprised, really thought Brighton would have too much for them. It will be tough, but if we play to our potential(as yesterday), I'd fancy us. COYH.
I had this feeling on Saturday morning watching Football Focus, when Mark Lawrenson stated firmly that Brighton were going up, that it would be a Watford Palace final. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
So the season starts and ends with Palarse. Had a feeling about this after Hollowhead made his irrational rant. Bring him on!!
God I hate palace, I don't even know why, I really hope you win. I might even buy a Watford shirt and get a ticket pfft. Come on watford
What a horrible nasty weasel of a man Holloway is. Did you see him tonight standing over a Brighton player that had been kicked in the face, berating the ref for giving the foul - their player should have been sent off for that high kick. I wanted to play Brighton as if we had to lose at Wembley, I would prefer for them to go up. But now it's ramp up the campaign against that little **** - all Zola has to do is show the players his rant about our loan players.
Saw that GFZ was at the game tonight with eyes flashing, taking it all in. Plotting begun I suspect. Sat next to him was a mate, Roberto Di Matteo. Wonder if there might be a job offer going his way.
I didn't really mind who won today, but I was more interested in how the match panned out. If one team hammered the other one, or had a dramatic late winner then they will head to Wembley with a lot of self-belief. I was hoping for a scrappy game and a 1-0 win and I wasn't far wrong. Both teams seemed to scared of losing. I hope Palace play with fear at Wembley, because if they do we will win. I think we have a huge belief and momentum behind us now. Deeney just seems to want this so much, no one in the stadium will be able to take it away from him. I think we saw this against Leeds when he get sent off, and against Blackburn when he had to be restrained from going too hard trying to get his hat-trick. We also have a number of players with international experience who I don't think will be as overawed of a final at Wembley than the Palace players. Anyone know how bad the Murray injury is? Is he likely to play?
at the moment they're saying unlikely, but there's two weeks to go...could go either way imho (in other words...no lol)
I was going to say that, when they were on the pitch Zola was twice the player Holloway was and GZ is twice the man now that they are off it. But lets face it, the gulf in class in far greater than that!
Zaha obviously the biggest threat. Need to have a plan for him. Maybe just playing our normal way will keep him out of the game?
"Despite his undoubted ability, England international Zaha, 20, did not win any of the end of season player awards at Crystal Palace and Holloway said: "How can he not win a trophy? So we all clubbed together and bought him one." The man is full of hot air.
This is terrible - a team with £10 million of loan players is gong to be playing against a team with £15 million of loan player at Wembley
Zaha made some errors in the first half, and almost let Buckley through on goal. The commentators were blaming it on over-confidence, I hope we get some more of that in the final!
I personally rate Bolasie higher than Zaha and see him as the bigger threat. I am hoping they start him on the bench again, and that Murray's injury keeps him out of the game! Zaha seems to have got a big too big for his boots... his tactic often seems to be run at the defender, look for the slightest of contact then go down, screaming for a foul (and berating the ref if he doesn't get it). As long as the defenders don't give him a reason to, I am hoping the ref doesn't fall for it
Zaha is in the Premier League next season, whatever happens (probably on loan to Newcastle or someone). Will he have the same desire as our players, or even other Palace players, at Wembley? Will he think that he is better than everyone else and try to showboat? Will he be prepared to battle,if it comes down to that?
