If only. I ****ing hate United

Unfortunately, I think Moyes might actually do quite well. Next season is a big one for every side in this year's top-7, who all, bar Everton, should be capable of mounting a title challenge in the coming season

You also have to realise that Ferguson will still be hanging around, and always on hand to guide Moyes if the ship needs steadying

Oh I see what you did there. I put you down and you thought coming back and trying to do the same would somehow make you feel like a big tough internet warrior. Fail. <doh>

Maybe not in his first Season, probably not in his first couple of Seasons in all honesty, but eventually he will IMO.

I also hate Manchester United, but Moyes was a classy appointment,

he's not like mourinho who needs 100m a season. Moyes will do just fine.

Not sure Jose had 100M at Porto when he won the CL.

Sky/UEFA has provided United without enough of a windfall to remain in the upper echelon but their days of being undisputed N.O 1 are most definitely over, and I say that without any hesitation.

United will be just like any other top club now, they will challenge depending on squad and ability, but the days of taking an average team to the title (ala this season) are long gone.

From the moment Abramovich bought Chelsea, they were on borrowed time and it's only the stadium (which is almost half United's size) that has prevented Chelsea from really going toe to toe with them, as a brand, Chelsea have increased astronomically over the last 10 years, to the extent where they could conceivably match United in revenue within 10 years or so. The Shiekh coming in has only sped up the clockwatch and they won't even be the best team in their city for much longer, all Fergie did was delay the inevitable, he knew deep down it was a matter of time.

United will definitely be there or thereabouts, but their days of dominating the Premier League as they have done over the last 6 years for every year bar 2 (narrowly missing out in both) are over.

It's not just the stadium that has held Chelsea back, there are numerous other reasons why they are still in the shadow of Europe's big clubs. Their PR since Roman bought the club has been dreadful.

    Net spend <laugh>

Never knew you were a Spurs fan <ok>

On a more serious note I wouldnt pay much attention to Porto's net spend. Ask yourself what their transfer policy is.

Sell our best players for huge money and buy more.

So..... and this is where it gets confusing and makes no sense....

How come with billions of pounds in financial backing available to them both Chelsea and City have failed to take over United?

Its been 10 years and well.... almost nothing has changed. You were 3rd then and are the 3rd best team in the land now.

I hope those days are over though, I would prefer real clubs challenging us and looks like the Arsenals and Tottenhams of the world might be about to get that break and compete with United.

Keep dreaming, only big spenders can compete with United, although the new TV deal may even things out a bit
