http://www.swanseacity.net/news/article/prem-squad-1036479.aspx I've heard so little about him (Leroy Lita) recently I thought he had moved on or was out on loan. Curtis Obeng is also listed in the 22 senior players. Both have gone under the radar of late.
That's a bit of a surprise, clearly Laudrup's taken a bit of a walk on the wild side!.....................
Every senior player on the clubs books have to be named to the senior 25 man squad if they meet the qualifications (i.e. are domestic or after the minimum number of domestics are named are foreign) until the squad is full or we run out of senior players.
Perhaps the question is really this - on what basis did we release Luke Moore from his contract but keep Leroy Lita instead? If Laudrup prefers Donnelly to Lita (as in Romania away), why is Lita still with us?
I have always quite liked Lita, and feel he offers something else when we are struggling up front. I am not for one second saying that he should be our number 1 striker, but I would not worry if he was brought on at 70 mins for a bash at goal
ML has obviously included both Lita and Obeng as they are still our players. He has forwarded 22 names, still room for 3 others. He doesn't have to include under age players like Donnelly, Ben Davies or even Shelvey as they are automatically included due to they're age. We have so many games on the horizon should we at any stage need numbers then players like Lita or Obeng will play if required, but if they were not named in the squad then they would automatically miss out. Makes sense to me. Come January the squads can then be updated, so no problem
think we had to name at least 8 home grown players in squad of 25, so obeng and lita take it up to 9, i assume this was done in case one of them goes out on loan
