Hacky will be getting wet at this......

£4.5m is a fair price given he is out of contract in the Summer.... but of course English.

I just can't see the deal happening to be fair.

St James’ Park side to make move for Blackpool attacker.

Newcastle United are readying a January bid for highly rated Blackpool attacker Tom Ince according to the Daily Mirror.

The St James’ Park side have been linked with a £4.5m bid for the former Liverpool man, an offer Blackpool may struggle to turn down.

The England Under 21 international is out of contract at the end of the season and as such would be able to leave the Tangerines for a tribunal fee which is sure to be far lower than the offer the Magpies would make in January.

Last term the 21 year old finished as the top assist maker in the Championship and also weighed in with 18 goals and has scored four goals in eight matches thus far this season.

Ince may well look for assurances of first team action before considering a move to Newcastle United as his time at Anfield involved a great deal of time waiting to make an impact, hence his decision to leave to join Blackpool.

Good player and at that price a no brainer.

I don't rate him as highly as some do though. Different players but I'd prefer Will Hughes.

4.5m would be an absolute snip. To be honest I thought we missed a trick with the 2m for Redmond in the summer. Rate Will Hughes too. There are plenty of good british players about and not all at the inflated costs often suggested. As with Sir Bob though, you need to sift and ge tthe right ones. I still think Ince will end up elsewhere. I think it would be good for Benni and Remy to have some genuine competition. He can play as 2nd striker too in the hole which gives more tactical flexibility. The fans have to be aware though, like Benni he can be a bit of luxury at times work rate wise. The dificulty comes in that I think it would be Benni he'd ave to dislodge, because I would not consider shifting Remy from the left as he looks ideal there. Good move by Pards to put him there. Hasn't played loads there in his career, more centrally or on the right but it certainly seems to suit.

That would be a great buy. Don't see it though. I see a side like Southampton, Norwich or any midtable side matching that and then some.

My problem with this, if we are talking about any player in October you can be sure he'll have signed for someone else once the window opens. We talk a lot and produce very little.

Exactly the kind of player we were signing under Bobby Robson. It may or may not work but grab all the exciting young British prospects you can get for a remotely reasonable price.

Will Hughes is a better prospect but you'll be talking £10m+ for him so we aren't involved in that bidding.

I watched the U21 game this evening and he looked really good. I know they were hardly playing the best opposition, but his vision, control, passing, running at players was superb and he is almost certainly a better crosser of the ball than anyone we have in our team currently.

If it was gonna happen it would have by now...

Good luck getting him for £4.5 million. We wouldn't offer it and although Blackpool would take it, he'll be best advised to sit tight and wait for the summer wages war.
