I think you would have embarrassed us and could have seen a 3-1 result easily. We have been so terrible this season and our passing is just grubby as hell. If we can stay in the mix till Christmas though I am confident we will improve as the season progresses as we tend to. Well done today lads, though, shame you conceded a silly red card though.

Agree, I think Cisse might struggle to get a start. Not sure I like HBA in the middle, but him Remy and Gouf up with Cabs, Sissoko and either Anita or Tiote in midfield provides more balance, creativity and work rate.

Dummett has made a good case for a starting place too.

Well done lads, what a ****ing great point. Glad we got something so the knives wouldn't have been out for Mbiwa because he played very well up until that point and imo it was Tiote's fault anyway.

We'll certainly need plenty of work and effort in that one. Maybe take Tiote out though and put Anita in. In such a lively game, Tiote is likely to see red again methinks.

Or Cabs, or whoever is playing CB for us?

Of course, with the Mackems now playing Poyet's free-flowing, creative style of football, we might be in for a surprise at how open and entertaining this one might be. <whistle>

I said we'd get humbled by a massive margin again and I'm delighted to say I'm wrong.

However I still expected Liverpool to win it 2-3 by the end and lets face it if the referee had had his way it would have happened as well!

Ironically the only bit I got right on this match was that I expected us to have a player sent off AGAIN, and Mbiwa was stupid to do what he did.

However, Remy was impeded in much the same way and stayed on his feet. Now, to me this a perfect illustration of why players dive.
Usually the foul is only given on the basis that the target player is felled, NOT on the basis that the offending player has made contact with intention to foul.

Very rarely will you see a penalty given for a player being pulled back, when that player stays upright.

I'm not excusing Mbiwa, it was a penalty no question but technically we should have had one too.

Well done the lads though, shot ourselves in the foot from a great position (as always) but held on!

It was never a free kick, the diver Suarez got him self in a tangle a threw himself to the ground and the ref bought it
couldn't wait to give a free kick, this was in the 7th minute of an added 4mins <doh>
