You are right of course but why do they have to capitulate to a side bereft of strikers?

Best time to play Swansea, keep it tight and perhaps nick one – but no, we get a showing as if the great run never existed.

I thought we had confidence and crucially for Pardew, "momentum"... Then this.

Never expected a win tonight but not a heavy defeat.

Does anyone know the last time Howard F-ing Webb took charge of a match we actually won???

Every time I see his name down as our ref I know we've had it because we'll get NOTHING in terms of decisions.

I've never known another referee be as 'poor' for us it's staggering. His dodgy decisions even cost us directly the year we went down ffs!

Defeat has to come, very few teams can ever expect to win every game, let alone away at a very good side. You have to say that Shelvey is a talented player, and only 21 - they got a gem there, I think. And Laudrup continues to show he knows what he's doing; some good, not great, players who aren't afraid of the ball.

We were poor, it was a poor night with awful luck. Krul, who beat Spurs on his own, with an assist to Dyer, then an assist to Debuchy, then getting double vision on the last one....but no-one should be worried. Still 7th, and that's what'll matter in May.

Now, couple of things - Alan Pardew said before the night began that players were there on their performances, yes? And set about choosing the same eleven - I understand why, I just disagree. He had to take off Santon, who was the worst of a lackluster defense, so what happens up at OT? Shola was dreadful, Willo was back to the old Willo, Colo not that much better, Cabaye and (in particular) Tiote were kinda cr@p. And Gouff/Sissoko looked like the same @rseholes we all fell out with last season. So if the only ones coming out with credit are Debuchy and Remy, what now? Will he really bring Cisse (injury permitting) in for Shola? Or Jonas in for Gouff? Or Ben Arfa in for Sissoko?

He'll keep the same side that went to Spurs and ask them to do a similar job, can't see him making big changes. Perhaps bring MYM in? Doubt it though...

There were some poor performances tonight. The guys looked tired. Pardew needs to switch around. Get Anita in! And HBA

I think we shoulf have mixed the team up a bit. We did have rotten luck today tho. It was one of those games. Swansea deserve it however.

Yeah, but he won't. That's the issue with Pards. For all he can sometimes do good things, he's really not the guy to have in charge when the chips are down.

Makes you wonder....what do you think NUFC would look like with Martinez in charge??

We'll never know, as Everton will keep hold of him. They are not a club that sacks its managers.

I am unaware of events before 2010 - I thought Newcastle and Arsenal were the only ones?
