Official #watfordfc ‏@watfordfcsays 2m #watfordfc confirms the appointment of Giuseppe Sannino as the club's new Head Coach. More details on http://watfordfc.com very shortly. No surprise there then...
And official confirmation...http://www.watfordfc.com/news/article/131218-sannino-appointed-1241843.aspx Three new assistant coaches too - all Italian of course.
My hat is off to anyone who can come up with a good chant with that name. Am a little concerned that at his time of life past achievements as listed on WFC home page, are gaining coaching experience for the past 17 years in the Italian league. Still he does look as though he could give the hair drier some welly.
He actually scares me a little and reminds me of Peirluigi Collina. This can only be a good thing. Best of luck to him and his assistants.
Welcome to the club... and hopefully he can give a few players a kick up the backside and organise the defence Will be at the Millwall and QPR games so will be interesting to see what affect he has in such a short space of time!
A fellow called Seppi Sannino Learned football from reading the Beano So searching for fame To Watford he came Turning vinegar wine into Fino Le roi est mort, vive le roi...
I see that Granada have only had Spanish managers since they were taken over by the Pozzos - so it is not as if they always want their own man in the job. Why the different policy with us, or do they think that English football is so bad that anything they send us will be an improvement ?
Quite possibly. Given the number of 'non-English' players in the top divisions, there certainly seems to be a lack of those with the technical ability associated with our continental cousins.
Gotta feel sorry for Zola, he hits a bit of bad form and gets sacked, despite getting the team to play some of the best football seen at the ground for many a season the year before, and that was at West Ham, seems like history repeats itself, lovely guy that WHU fans didn't want to go, I hope his replacement at Watford does better tha his replacement at WHU (Avram)
He wasnt sacked. He resigned. He had been saying for a few weeks that he wasnt sure he knew how to turn things around and so he decided that it was best to step aside and let someone else have a go rather than hold back the team. It was incredibly honorable and a brave step. Yet again he proved what a gent he is.
