As per the title really folks.. do you think we will sign anyone?

 

I think we will.. but it will be some sort of a last minute loan... and one we don't expect like Richards from Citeh.

 

Might bring somebody in for appearances sake, but not the the kind of player that the fans want.

 

No chance! Why spend when he doesn't need to?

 

We would never get him mate. I'd love to have Richards and he will probably be off but certainly not to us.

 

Man U want Mata 2/3 days later he signs
Chelsea want Matic signs after a few days
Chelsea want Salah 2 days later he signs

Newcastle want de Jong ( seemingly ) 3 weeks later negotiations still ongoing

Joke continues to earn his money for doing nowt apart from being the controllers eyes and ears but at least he hasn`t opened his mouth and made us a laughing stock again

it could be argue that with Jonas we've lost a first team squad player already.
Right now we are effectively weaker than at the start of the window IMHO.

I don't know is my answer.
I've given up trying to second guess what Ashley will do anymore.
We might sign players, we won't - where's the coin for a quick heads or tails.

If we dont, I honestly think we're sleep walking into a potential recruitment nightmare in the summer.

 

I think everything is hanging on the expected (and MA hoped for) mammoth bid for Cabaye. If he goes and we have time to do anything then we'll probably see a single striker and a midfield replacement. If he goes at the very last minute or ends up staying then we'll see no inbound movement.

It's not looking like we will. It's not the fact the we won't sign anyone that's frustrating it's the fact that we've not bid for anyone to even test the waters (confirmed by several journalists as well as De Jong's father/agent).

I think we will get this fellow over the line.

He'll be the perfect appointment for Joe; he's available on a free and he's ex-Toon. So, what could possibly go wrong?

Remy's loan made permanent £12m
Cabella transferred end of the season £11m
Remy picks up a season ending injury
Kuqi brought in for cover on a free

If we were going to sign someone it would have been done by now. All Newcastle heirachy do is sprout hot air but no results.
I can see Cabaye definitely going , Remy not signing for us, Obertan being given an extended run as he's a new player having played so little.
God help us under this regime.

 

Jonas out freed up the space for Cabella, it's just a pi$$ing contest in terms of when he gets here. This is a good move, it's an upgrade. The striker is on the agenda, we're obviously trying to get Luuk De Jong in to fill the space we have there. Neither seem reliant on Cabaye going, but Grenier seems to be a 2+2 situation as I doubt we really have a player lined up to replace him if/when he goes.

Most likely scenario is De Jong in, Cabaye out, Cabella on a pre-contract. The conversation with Hatem Ben Arfa is the pivotal one - "look, Yohan's gone, we've got no hope of signing a replacement....kinda need you to, erm, fill in, score a lot of goals and cover our ar$es."
