can we stick to the thread please 'The Bristol Rovers Are Down Thread' I think they meet the mighty Eastleigh next season, I have watched them a couple of times against Dorchester, Ian Baird was the manager, I reminded him of his swift exit at AG (2 fingers-home fans - friendly - chelsea) he thought all players did it... Also they had/have? Tom Jordan Joe's son, nice lad, very well spoken and we chatted about his brother that City sold to Cardiff. Lee Peacock is something to do with the club but not playing. It brings it home what a low division rovers are entering, are they all full time? Not much to look forward to for the 'Man U of the conference.
i cant believe that eastleigh has a sugar daddy like forest green rovers! i read on the OS forum that 5 teams are part time. no rovers fan are saying we are the man utd of the conference. someone on 5live called us it. wished they didnt.
Captain Jack Sparrow on here now - well as I have been barred from the Rovers forum for upsetting the Gas heads on their relegation to non league football - Ha ha ha ha absolutely hilarious for a bunch of horrible rovers fans. Well deserved and lets hope its 5 years until your back as it took Luton. You could always go and watch City though - oh but hold on there L1 whereas you'll be at the likes of Alfreton. Mind you you have a local derby against Salisbury not far from my team Swindon. I'm sure City fans are loving it and I don't blame them as we are as well down the M4.
B.R. FC Four seasons, eight managers Darrell Clarke: March 2014- present John Ward: Dec 2012-March 2014 Mark McGhee: Jan 2012-Dec 2012 Paul Buckle: May 2011-Jan 2012 Stuart Campbell: Mar 2011-May 2011 (caretaker) Dave Penney: Jan 2011-Mar 2011 Darren Patterson: Dec 2010-Jan 2011 (caretaker) Paul Trollope: Sep 2005-Dec 2010 I bet the sags wished they never sacked Trollope, Buckle was the funniest time, 'Barca'.
Odd isn't it- Paul Trollope and keith Millen. Both shown the door but ourselves, and now assistant managers at Premier League clubs (albeit Norwich all but down), but Millen in particularly doing fine.
Millen shouldn't have got a second term. He did an alright job in his first term but didn't have it in him to be a full time manager.
There are quite of few of that type about. Good assistants but bloody hopeless managers. There was a guy at Sunderland who's name escapes me. Colin Harvey at Everton was another. Jimmy Lumsden was Moyes' No 2 for ages. There was John Gorman,England assistant as well as ours, but bad at Swindon as Manager. Just to name a few.
