It is a theory of mine that Newcastle may have struck a secret deal with Wickham for him to run his contract down and get him for next to nowt, in the same way they done with Colback..Time will tell if I'm right...
Carroll is utter ****e. Tall plank and nowt else IMO. Wickham has shown he can be a footballer once he has put his mind to it. That's my point.
Carroll's a right handful imo. I'd love him back at Newcastle, but he's a bit too injury prone. I wouldn't be too disappointed with Wickham though.
Sorry mate, but all you have done is make up a set of numbers to try and support your argument. It's all guess work what his salary is now ( would be shocked if over 20 K a week) And how you claim to know what he is asking for is ridiculous.
He's not fit that often and only has 1 good game in 5 when he is. A dozen times, being generous, every season he looks like he's top class. He's an expensive luxury and a scruffy looking tramp in my opinion.
By Matt Law 5:00PM BST 11 Aug 2014 Black Cats are also eyeing up Manchester City defender Micah Richards, following the capture of Jack Rodwell Sunderland are demanding West Ham United pay £8 million to take Connor Wickham to Upton Park. West Ham made a formal approach for Wickham on Monday, but were told their £5m valuation does not match that of the Black Cats. Wickham only has a year left on his Sunderland contract and is yet to sign a new deal, leading the Hammers to believe he may be available on the cheap. But Sunderland want the £8m fee back they paid to take Wickham from Ipswich in 2011 and it remains to be seen whether or not West Ham are willing to match that price tag. West Ham are desperately trying to sign a new frontman before the start of the season on Saturday, with Andy Carroll ruled out for four months. Co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold have expressed an interest in a number of targets, including Peter Crouch, Croatian Andrej Kramaric and Samuel Eto’o. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...-for-striker-Connor-Wickham-to-8-million.html
Wickham can go **** himself as far as I'm concerned. I'd love him to develop with us, but if he's going to hold out for a year and walk out for nothing, then it's so long and thanks for the last six games. He may have been buggered about a bit by the club, but he hardly set the place light either. Now he's coming good he thinks he's got us by the balls. Go tell it to David Nugent, Marouane "Earthquake" Chamakh, Phil Gray and all the other twats who thought they could do better after they knocked a few goals in.
Club accounts aren't posted in so much detail that individual player salaries are shown. If that was the case, it would be plastered all over the press...after every poor performance.
It didnt have all, wish i could remember who posted it, it wasnt a regular, showed annual salary of £2.2m Actually i think it might have been on the gonner wickham thread, i'll have a geek in a bit Edit : http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/271478-Gonner-Wickham/page8?highlight=Gonner wickham Nah! Not in there, needle in a haystack time, sorry

SUNDERLAND remain determined to extend Connor Wickham’s stay at the Stadium of Light, with only a “silly money” offer likely to tempt the Black Cats into selling the striker. The Black Cats swiftly rejected a £4million bid from West Ham for Wickham’s services yesterday, with Hammers boss Sam Allardyce now contemplating whether to make a fresh approach for the 21-year-old, as he looks to replace crocked ex-Newcastle United frontman Andy Carroll. Sunderland very much see Wickham as part of the club’s future and are still hopeful that the England Under-21 international will extend his contract at the Stadium of Light. The Echo understands that it would take a huge offer - likely to be in excess of £10m - for Sunderland to even consider parting company with Wickham, who arrived on Wearside in an £8m deal three years ago. Head coach Gus Poyet indicated last week that Wickham would be sold if he didn’t pen a new contract, with his current deal due to expire next summer. But contracts are inevitably a sensitive subject at present for Sunderland after the club were stung by academy product Jack Colback joining Newcastle on a free transfer this summer, albeit the Black Cats would be owed compensation for an out-of-contract Wickham due to his age. Talks are continuing with Wickham’s agent over a new deal and although the two parties remain some distance apart in their initial valuations, Poyet is relaxed over the situation. Sources close to Wickham have indicated too that he would be prepared to pen a new contract if he received a concrete offer from Sunderland. And while Wickham’s situation is a pressing concern for sporting director Lee Congerton, the primary objective for Sunderland over the next three weeks is strengthening the squad with further reinforcements. Sunderland have renewed their interest in Brighton winger Will Buckley after seeing a January bid rejected for the 24-year-old, who played under Poyet during his time in charge of the Seagulls. Poyet is keen to bring in another wideman, in addition to main target Fabio Borini, with Sunderland reportedly submitting a fresh offer of around £2.5m for Buckley, who is not a target for West Brom, despite reports to the contrary. Brighton may be more prepared to offload Buckley now than they were in January - when Seagulls midfielder Liam Bridcutt moved to the Stadium of Light. Buckley’s future under new Brighton boss Sami Hyypia was thrown into doubt over the weekend after academy product Shamir Fenelon was surprisingly preferred in the starting line-up for their opening day defeat to Sheffield Wednesday. Sunderland are also continuing their bid to sign Manchester City new boy Bruno Zuculini on a six-month loan after the Argentine midfielder, signed in a £3m deal from Racing Club this summer, made his debut in Sunday’s Community Shield.
Wickham thinks hes the **** after a couple of good games. Where was he the last 3 years? If West Ham want him, you know he's rotten. When did they last sign a striker that did anything? Ba? And before? Hell, even Tevez was whack for them. Some track record right there.
