Stolen? No one forced him to come we just made him a good offer that he chose to take up. As for the bid, Barca didn't do it as serious negotiation, they just wanted to keep the issue in the public eye. They would have made another offer by now if they were serious about buying him.

Barca decided he wasn't good enough and that they didn't really want him, hence him coming to Arsenal

Barca's pursuit of Cesc is almost as tedious as Arsenals continued unsettling of Alex Chamberlain.
So stop whinging about it every day.

Sorry guys, but Fabregas just ain't that good.

There's a reason that he can't get in the Spain side. They have better players.

I think Arsenal fans are more guilty than most in believing "best in Premier League = best in the world". Barca's valuation is a reality check.

If you don't think he is better than 1.5 Hendersons then the problem is with you not us.

To add to what Samir said why the **** should we give him back? He means more to us than he does to them as he is our captain and best/2nd best player whereas he would have nothing like that status with them. Also we did not loan him as they seem to think we have done, we have bought him and so they have no 'rightful' claim to take him back.

My Milkman has just handed me a bill for £32.00, for 8 pints.

I told him he was having a laugh, I'm not paying that.

But then he reminded me that Liverpool had paid £35M for Andy Carroll.

So I had no choice really but to pay up.

And the videos of them forcing a Barca shirt over his head or the pictures of Pique and Puyol posing with his photo when they borrowed our training ground were faked were they? Give me a break.

Stopthe Press.....'he ain't that good' - but oddly Barca have spent 2 years hounding Arsenal to get him.
That makes your comment to be stupid.

My jaesus dont you see they think he wants to join them ( his agent must have informed them of this) and think this is leverage in getting a lower price, as with Masc and us a paltry 18m.
Haggling is part of this since time began, why you would bemoan that is beyond me, also Fab knows how Barca think of him, they want him at the club, he is not coming from European champions or Englsh Champions so again they think they can pay less, realisticly, If he wants ot go, Arsenal will have to cash in and it wont be near 50m, I think obviously. Either sell him or buy in the players to play with him, one or the other, the good finances fiasco is getting a bit much, like 60m will put Arsenal football club in danger, but hey, your share holders are fkn lovin it eh, and at no point am I having a pop at your beloved club. I question the thread's OP

Clubs in better circumstances always screw those in worse circumstances. Arsenal are no different

If Arsenal express interest in a player at a smaller club it can turn the players head.

Also, if Fab is so comitted to the club, Barca would know this through Fabs agent, so I am assuming Fabs agent is authorised to try to push the transfer for the lowest price barca and Arsenal will agree to.

they did most of his developement too didn't they? Another reasonfor wanting to pay less to get their own academy student back.:) He was very good when he came to Arsenal even before he fully adjusted to the prem. It aint like Arsenal turned him into the player he is today, helped yes, but he clearly in the way he plays learned his trade before coming to England

I'm not comparing him with overpriced English players like Carroll and Henderson. I'm just saying that he's not as good as you think he is. Barca may want him, but I'm not sure they rate him as highly as you lot do. If Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets are fit and available, they will all start ahead of him for the forseeable future. Same goes with Alonso for the national team.

What exactly does he do for you that is so amazing anyway? Snatch victory from the jaws of defeat? Rally the troops to give that extra 10 per cent when the going gets tough? Boss the midfield in the games that really count? I must've missed all of this.

What I'm getting at, is that there's a tendency to think "good in the Premier League" = "world beater".

Yes he may be one of the best passers in this league. But would he be one of the best passers in the Spanish league? He's an Anglicized Spanish player, and so to English eyes, probably looks better than many other Spanish players.

I personally think Cesc should leave, because if he stays in England he'll just end up like Gerrard and Lampard, with skills that are only suited to the specific demands of the Premier League.

And Spanish defending is not cack. It's just different to English defending, and probably looks cack to English eyes.

This season in 35 games he was directly involved in a goal (so scored or created it) 26 times, last season in 36 appearances it was 38 times, season before that he got 18 goals/assists in 33 games and the season before that he got 22 goals and 13 assists in 45 games. Bearing in mind that he had no proper summer break in between those statistics are not too shabby. I can't be bothered to find all the times he has made a crucial difference for us because there are many. I thought it was accepted universally that he is a top level player so why are you trying to say that he is overrated?

Despite what you may think we did not force Fabregas to join us, we just made him a good offer that would help his development in to the player he is today. He is our captain and best player so there is no reason for us to sell him back even though you may call it 'greedy'.
