I can see why non football men have sanctioned the deal. Hes a big name (not sure why) and looks like an attempt to replace suarez has been made but i doubt rodgers is doing backflips.

Because he's a talented player who's played for three of the biggest clubs in the world, and one of the biggest national teams in the world. There's no doubting his talent, it's his inability to do it often enough, the off-field "incidents" and the falling out with everyone around him that hinders him.

Have to say when this first came out I felt like I did when we were rumoured to be signing Sturridge , that is underwhelmed but if his potential could be unlocked then we would have an absolute bargain. Big if but worth the punt.

I'm not sure I agree with you on that; I think he may genuinely just do it out of the goodness of his heart (if the stories are true). But we can only guess.
