reports from the liberty is that tom did very well for someone who just arrived and did not know much other than read and watch a few video's about swansea. He showed some lovely touches and played his part in the deserved win...looks like an asset to me...<ok>

Dai .... is he likely to start in place of Shelvey against WBA or is he going on to the bench.

    Definitely a bench place.
I think Fulton may drop down to make way.

And probably wait until Fernandez is fully up to speed before giving him a start. Next round of the League Cup isn't too far away.

Wouldn't object to him playing from the start though.

For me Monk has to decide where Shelvey is going to fit in and if he should play Taylor or Jazz at left back. Different class of opposition but in the present situation the Richards deserves a place.

Second the motion on Jazz. I would like to see him given a start at left back.

I was surprised to see Fulton in the line-up last night, I thought he was going to take longer to come back from his injury.

Jaz is just not at the standard that can play at the highest level week in week out. He is ok for the odd cup game against lower opposition but as a regular then he is not what we need. we need much better.

A lot has been written about Taylor not having a run of games, Laudrup not playing him, etc. etc. and that he should be judged on performances from before his injury and that he'll come good.

Well, last night we saw a player who really has had almost no opportunity and no run of games take his chance to show Monk exactly what has been missing in that left back slot. Good positional play, timing, decent passing, making space, covering other players, releasing players ahead to go forward and when needed getting stuck in without getting booked.

We still need a very accomplished, first choice left back but in the mean time I'd have no hesitation giving the starting place to Jazz.

Can't you remember when Jazz played in our first season in the Premier league? He was catastrophic.

Please please please don't pick him for any league games. He's miles short on quality.

Jazz did an excellant job when the left back and right back got injured I think that first season . I gave up asking for a chance for Jazz when it became obvious he wasnt going to get it .Covered Bale one game well and when Bale crossed the ball and Jazz got a piece of it and it bounced off Allen to a Spur player who scored .. everyone blamed it on Jazz..... pissed me off!

I remember watching him play for Wales against Mexico at left back two years ago and he was terrific. Came on in place of Taylor - didn't put a foot wrong - stopped their right wing dead in his tracks.

He is as good if not better than Taylor and if given the opportunity would own the LB position, which is not his preferred position BTW.

I think Jazz just needs to get a run of top level footy, maybe Monk will use him in the cup, and against lesser Premier league sides, I think he can rise to the occasion, he needs the break, and we need to see if he will cut it at this level, I'm all for seeing Jazz being given the chance, as I think he has it in him to succeed!....................<ok>

Wrong to compare jazz playing against rothram IMO .

They are a level below us and having a good game should be the minimum requirement .

I actually like jazz, but the clock is ticking for him, his loan spells haven't been great so that shows he seems to be short in some aspects of his game.

A loan with a footballing side would be good, premier league level is hard on full backs and I'm not 100% sure if he is a long term solution for us.

I think it is make or break time for Jazz, and he will need to step up a level if he wants to establish himself, now is the time in my view, I like Jazz and I do think he has the ability, just needs his metal outlook strengthened, confidence thing maybe.
