I know he divides opinion on here to say the least, but I've got to say I'm buzzing for John O'Shea after that last-minute equaliser for ROI against Germany on his 100th cap. What a moment! Hopefully he'll be on a high for the weekend now and keep the Soton attack quiet.

Any Sunderland player scoring against Germany, in a meaningful match, is a source of pride for the club.

I never thought I'd see so may internationals at the club.

I used to sit through entire matches hoping to see one of our lot come off the sub's bench for NI or someone ....... rarely did <doh>

Always been a big fan of JOS and think a lot of the stick that comes his way is undeserved . Top pro , with a great attitude. Well done on 100 caps topped of with last minute equaliser.

It was quite funny that they only had one 'on target's shot in 90 minutes <laugh>

RoI deserved a draw even if it was just for the amount of heart and guts they put in. JOS had a good game against two German centre forwards and was MOTM for Ireland.

Agree with all the sentiments here, he's been a good servant to the club when he could probably have stayed at United for a few years as a squad player. Having our players come back from the international breaks on a high can only ever be good for the club.

He did well to get ahead of the defender there. Good goal - and what a time to get it! Last minute of his 100th international.

Sunderland haven't had a bad international break this time, have they? O'Shea and Altidore scored tonight, Fletcher's playing well, and Vergini got a couple of 90 mins under his belt for Argentina. He missed out for the Brazil game but that's probably done him good long-term because they were accused of sloppy defending for two breakaway goals in that game. Giaccherini probably would have played but for injury and Mannone surely has to be knocking on Italy's door. On the up.

I understood - and why not - love laughing at them!!

I find myself more passionate about ROI & Scotland now than I am about England - mainly because they DO look at our players and England completely ignore us!!

Ireland played a good game last night. Very well organised, always looked a threat on the break and Germany seemed completely lost for ideas. McClean had the making of their right back time and time again, if only he could delivery more decent crosses. I thought the Irish might have folded after conceding, they looked leggy for 5 mins or so, but fair play to them for going for the goal.

Cracking finish from JOS. Keeps the pressure on Fletch, Connor and Jozy!

Well done JOS, and Jozy too, still like to see our players doing well at international level, even though I am not a fan of either, both can contribute to the cause this season.
