I have asked this question of that poster numerous times since the game but as yet no answer so don't hold your breath. More often than not Bony has been the provider for attempts missed. Unfortunately, that particular poster does seem to zero in an one particular player or character then does a hatchet job on him. He doesn't answer how a 'one season wonder' gets to play for his country regularly and feature in the World Cup, scoring twice. How many of our players have done that? If anyone watched the game on Sunday I really can't see how you'd single out Bony for this 'special treatment'. If he'd missed two or three in one game that he'd normally put away I could perhaps understand it. I think that the poster only sees goalscoring as a problem therefore it's a problem with the man up front. Those of us who watch the Swans a bit more reguarly or maybe watch them live (as you see off the ball movement) know that's facile.
Bony is one of our best players by a country mile, but service to him needs to improve, I'm sure he'll do us proud this season, he's on the score sheet!.............
I agree , I did watch the game "live" in the ground and to be honest he was no better or worse than the other 10 on the park , he played to his strengths holding up and bringing others into play which is also a strikers role as I'm sure you know so why the focus on one of the best players this Club has had certainly in my living memory beats me .I can't think what he thought of Steve Watkin .All players go through a slump as any football educated fan will acknowledge and he will come good because what he brings to the game is not the trait of a "one season wonder " .And just in case you're interested Dai ,he had one shot on target and scored from it .
Bony and Siggy just need a bit of rest..Montero needs to start a few games. The more I see Ki play the less I panic on Brittons return..remember , Britton still has to get fit and fine tuned AFTER his return from injury so he will be a long time till 100 per cent .Great read stumpy , got me rethinking my panic mode.We sure need a win next game though and Ill leave it at that ..cheers
He appears to be Monk's ace up the sleeve , and to be fair it's nearly come off on a couple occasions .
He's looked good when he's been given more than a few minutes, links well with Bony. Would Ki drop back to DM to let Siggy and Emnes to make up a midfield 5 with Dyer, Routs or Montero being the 2 wide players?
Yes agree, he runs at defenders well, loves to take them on, and always creates chances, I love the guy, but Monk bringing him on for 8 minutes last time was just so pointless.............
Montero definitely needs to start for me. His pace is terrifying! Was Bony's one season wonder the season he signed for us or the season before where he got 31 goals in 30 games?
Despite my reservations Carroll looks like he can mould into a player to scoop up the loos balls, kinda makes you wish we went and bought Jonny Williams who has shown for Wales he can do DM, CM and AM positions all in the same match!!
Agree JW is having a great time for Wales, I noticed too that Emnes has done a media interview, 'waiting his time to brake through for a starting position', the lad has such a good attitude, more of that we need, hope he brakes into the team more, he certainly deserves more game time.............
Bony is world class plain and simple, if somebody cant see that they need their brains scooped out! From what ive seen bony is getting about 2/3 chances per game which to be honest is nothing short of disgraceful in terms of supply. You could have diego costa up front for us and he would probably only be about 1 or 2 goals ahead of wilf, if we dont feed him the ball when he wants it he wont score! Watch bony make a move and then have to check back when we recycle the ball instead of playing it early and in front of him, it happens time and time again . I cant wait to tell the boys somebody on the message board compares danny graham to bony , one of the funniest things ive heard all year...
Bony is ok but far from world class as the big clubs have shown......where is the world class bit ?????
Of course he is! Wish we could improve our service to him a bit though, would help our goal tally. Good to hear from you by the way, hope everything is ok with you and family............
Me too, Rodgers bought himself one headache there for sure, and already getting ratty with the media over him!.....................
Ballotelli was a massive risk. What an infuriating player. When he applies himself and plays as part of a team he's almost unplayable but I've rarely seen such a selfish guy on the pitch. It really is all about him. On a personal note I think it's amazing what he's achieved growing up in a racist environment with white foster parents and then playing for Italy. For that reason alone I'd love him to do well but he really needs to grow up and change his attitude.
