When have Oscar or Ake been picked ahead of Mikel in DM?

Mikel is definitely not a luxury player but he's a good player who has been a great servant for Chelsea. He played a massive part in our CL win and was arguably the best player on the park in the final along with David Luiz. Whilst there are definitely better DMs about, Mikel is a good option to have when you need to see a game out or sit deep. Mourinho has been using him far too early on imo which is why I think you're giving him stick.

 

Really don't see why Mikel gets so much stick from some, especially when he is only (and for most of his early career with us) a squad player. Not every player has to be or can be a world beater.

If someone thinks he's our worst ever player I can only imagine they didn't see some of our 80's sides!!

 

Worst player ever for Chelsea list has already been done, I dont think any TRUE Chelsea supporter picked Obi John.

If he is still recovering from injury I would prefer Ake over Mikel any day.

Like the CL final - he is only good for sitting back and absorbing!

 

I prefer Ramires alongside Matic in DM role as oposed to Obi John, however Ramires is just as good as AM as well and can make the switch with Fabregas, the good point is we have so many options at the mo, throw in Ake too. Jose is spoiled for choice. Happy day's.

nothing wrong with fleck, his goal scoring record was fine before he came to us, they just did not play him the way he could play
