No, this is the argument the left wing use! Seriously, the political flagship Newsnight was taken over by an ex-Guardian journalist and isn't worth watching now. Balance is all I'm after, and it's not there. One area on which the BBC have been incredibly tunnel-visioned about is immigration. They extol the virtues but rarely give airing to concerns about pressure on communities from numbers particularly in the south.
Here's a link to the bloke that Clarkson tried to slap.. some very funny photos and comments below it..
Dead right. And no adverts which always have the sound turned up. I find both the BBC and it's Norweglan counterpart far more interesting and pleasant to watch than the commercialised, capitalised usually far right biased bollox TV. Happy to pay the fee to avoid the ads alone.
Would it be poor form to start a thread "Faces That Just Beg To Be Slapped"? I'd propose Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Shaun Wright-Phillips slap led to bar ‘glassing’ please log in to view this image A BAR boss was glassed and scarred for life in a brawl sparked by a girl slapping Premier League ace Shaun Wright-Phillips in the face, a court heard. The QPR winger, then with Man City, was in the VIP area of trendy club Panacea with pals including footballers Stephen Ireland and Zat Knight. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...Wright-Phillips-slap-led-to-bar-glassing.html
Ah Strolls come on man. Don't go down the "teacher teacher!" route. You've never done that before and its not your style. Keep your dignity intact bro
I know very little about the show, or the presenter, but this seems to be creating a great deal of interest. I've asked a few people about this and asked what it is he says that is so profound or brave. No one seems to be able to tell me but you seem well informed so I thought I'd ask you.
I couldn't let it pass Swords. He posted my avatar (which happens to be a picture of my son) in response to a post asking for suggestions as to 'faces that just beg to be slapped'.
I won't get involved Stroller but just to say I think the whole Moderation institution is counter productive and needs to be gradually liquidated. If it was up to me there would be no Moderators at all. The Board would self-regulate and the free market would dictate the type of Board it would be and type of Poster it would attract ( and discard). The problem is, when a conflict breaks out and someone goes to the Moderators and they act with some form of restrictive measure(s), it merely antagonises people and leaves a burning resentment which eventually surfaces somewhere else down the road with twice the intensity the original argument was composed of. If people wonder why everything goes smoothly for a while and then all of a sudden the place erupts into mayhem seemingly out of nowhere, there's their answer. A problem that wasn't allowed burn itself out when it was on the threshold of doing so, instead simmered beneath the surface until it was triggered into exploding, often to the onlooker's amazement because of the apparent innocuousness of the comment or post to which it reacted. Then you have another wave of punishments and ostracism which in turn hardens attitudes still further. We had a recent case which displayed all the classic symptoms of the result of this ill-conceived policy. Its all totally avoidable. Ironically, by doing less the Mods would do more to enhance the harmony and well-being of the Forum. In your case, I'm sure Andy didn't know that was your son in the picture and actually thought it was you. Your reaction is normal(ish) when facing a perceived slight on your own flesh and blood but when you realise the perpetrator didn't actually mean what you thought he meant, the situation is neutralised. Do you understand what I'm saying Strolls?
