25 kilometres an hour or 16 miles an hour.

Obertan has been clocked at 20 mph plus on a number of occassions

Obviously not seen much from him yet but I think I saw enough on the weekend to suggest he could be a pretty good signing. It sounds like it might be a case of keeping him in the right headspace again though. If he settles in alright looks like he will be decent.

Erm, that's not that impressive. 100m in about 13-14 seconds?

There are plenty of footballers that could probably do it in about 11 seconds.

Supermac used to do 100 mts in 10 seconds in pit boots and two centre halves hanging on his back......according to me dad like.

He was superb last night. One of the best displays of wing play I've seen in quite a while.

He was great last night. Ok the opposition is weak compared to the PL, but honestly he really impressed. Was head and shoulders above anyone on that pitch.

He's got explosive pace mate, the acceleration is unbelievable given his build. He gets away from defenders with ease and he has an ability to turn on a 5p coin.

Valencia would mince him for pace but his acceleration doesn't look anywhere near as fast, I guess we'd have to compare for that to be confirmed.

Plus first 5 yards is in your head anyway (particularly as a winger) and the lad looks to have a great footballing brain based on last night. Its very true what you say though, pace is relative to what you are doing. Some 60m sprinters can't sustain it for 100m. I'd be willing to place a sizeable bet that a number of top level sprinters could beat Bolt over 60m. 100m bit of a different story. Like you say Valencia is lightning quick when it comes to covering long longer distance, he has a very powerful running style as does someone like Sissoko.

A winger needs thought and a burst of acceleration to make room. Thauvin looks to have that.

The few scouting reports I've read on him said his acceleration is amazing with top speed being okay. Acceleration and dribbling is what we need on a winger. We have aarons for the pace aspect. Gouffran has neither trait and he cant score.

He's a fantastic player mate, I've watched him play loads of times, it's just (with a lot of French players) attitude that can let him down. He seems unable to get back on the horse if he falls off, having said that, I think Steve Mac is probably the best guy to nurture his talent and I think this league is better suited for him.

Gatlin wasted Bolt over 60m just three days ago mate, thankfully the race was 100m and Bolt nicked it <ok>

That being the operative word. Of course I am assuming that Bolt is clean and all these experts are right about his unique biomechanics. One thing for sure I am a massive fan of life bans for the cheats. Its either that or you just let people take what they want. I'd imagine the latter would be viewed a morally incomprehensible. You'd get a situ like Mr 60% Bjarne Rijs in cycling, where he was boosting so much EPO they were having to wake him up in the night to keep his heart ok <laugh><laugh><laugh>

This middle ground we are stuck in is pointless. People will always cheat and more so if you don't have a strong deterrent.

I must I rarely buy into the crusade type mentality but I badly wanted Gatlin beaten.

1:30pm mate on the BBC website, Bolt should wipe the floor with him again.

200m fastest time this year belongs to Gatlin but Bolt's only ran it once.

You wanna see how fast some of the scousers shift mate when they hear about the Primark sales.

Correction: It's only the semi's today.

You're Dad's right. I was there when he did it. And Supermac had been on the pop the morning of the game!
