3.20 at Chepstow is a cracking race for this time of year. No bet but definitely worth setting the recorder for as many of these horses will be in the upper echelons of each stables pecking orders.
I am sorry to say that although Emotionless looks to be a fit healthy beast of a horse that AOB is having a great end to the season and with a proven group 0ne winner Air Force Blue looks the one to be on, took 11/10 earlier but could be odds on prior to the off. So that's the easy Dewhurst now for the the big C, (cant spell it) Brian Ellison is a trainer I like and at 50/1 I am hoping that Montefeltro can nudge into the frame. Over at York I fancy Robert Boy 18/1 to run into a place at 3:25. That's the afternoons viewing sorted so just the lawn to mow before settling down to a days sport. Good luck to all.
Here's my bets today: 2.10 Chepstow Brave Jaq 3/1 2.35 Newmarket Ibn Malik 4/1 3.10 Newmarket Air Force Blue 11/10 3.55 Chepstow Monsiuer Gibraltar 2/1
Newmarket 14.10 Symposium 14.35 Ibn Malik 15.10 Emotionless (Nap) 16.25 Landofhopeandglory 17.00 Mistrusting
I think Ibn Malik is stepping down a grade so should be competitive in a group 3 and 4/1 is too big a price. That doesn't mean to me that the horse he lost to lto should then be any more likely to win a group one against a proven grade one performer.
I'm in the Emotionless camp, but agree, Appleby seems to be almost prepared to accept second place with a view that next year will be better. In the Ces I see no reason why Gavlar should overturn places with Low Key on their "trial" running ........ so Gavlar it is then!
I am rubbish at the jumps and on seeing all the fallers in a hurdle race in the first I am reminded why I am strictly a flat man. As many on here have said what a good card the Chepstow one is today however I have picked out a yankee for fun. 3.55 Monseiur Gibraltar 4.30 Tea for Two 5.05 Sausalito Sunrise 5.40 Mor Brook
Got slaughtered by the winner however Rainbow and once chance had gone the jock quite rightly let it go, didn't look likely to win but wouldn't have been last.
Air Force Blue has a lot of growing up to do, you won't see the best of him until next season so I would be wanting to strike if I was in the Emotionless camp today. AFB will be a monster next season.
You must love Pat Smullen bluesky see the ride once again on Gifted Master...He did the same aboard him lto, his opponents were none the wiser today seemingly.
