We just don't have anything quality about us. Noone knows what to do with the ball apart from Brady and Naismith. The ball get's passed straight out of play about 1 in every 5 passes, or just go too long and the keeper claims it. Throw ins just go to a pile of players so it's a lottery. So basically after gaining possession, it's given away straight away. Some corners were better today but generally they don't work, Freekicks we might as well not bother. First touches are too clumsy and usually go a few yards in front of them so it's easy to get the ball off them. They played much better today, and we could have won that if we had bought a striker that we have been asking for the last 2-3 seasons. There was a lot of sections that was enjoyable to watch. At the end of the day, we looked like a lower league team in the cup trying to get a replay out of a Premiership side.
Bamford must be so thrilled to have signed for us - instead of festering on the Palace bench, he now gets to fester on ours ??
We were a lot lot better! That's all. I think we might be ok - gutting to take a KO in the 8th round, but there are 2 more full rounds left. Come on city
I ducking hate Leicester always have done and if only we'd taken our chances (I know it's a big if) but better performance - come on boys let's crack on in the next games
Agree that the performance was encouraging and the formation worked very well, IMO. Leicester didn't get a shot on target un til the 58th minute and that was via a free-kick on the edge of the area. The players fought for everything and we're still in 17th place, which is the target many people set at the beginning of the season. The fight is on.
I lost my internet for about 20 minutes, luckily it's given me the chance to calm down. Today, we were away to the team that is clear at the top of the league, we kept them at bay for 89 minutes, spurning a couple of chances ourselves, then, as soon as this table-topping team score in the very last minute of ordinary time, out come the usual suspects, taking great delight that our team has at last conceded a goal, just like they knew we would, and suddenly we are not Premier League standard. We ARE PL standard, and will remain so until we are relegated, be that this year or any other, until then, no matter how much it disappoints you, we are in the Premier League!
Same old same old. We don't take our chances when on top and always manage to ship a goal. People are saying better performance but where has it got us ? Just another defeat on the inevitable road to relegation. Plucky Norwich get **** all as usual.
But to hold the league leaders for 89 minutes and create the better scoring chances until that horrid moment of switching off is surely to be applauded? It's not we shipped 4 or 5 which many would have predicted?
Hello lads, I have to give you big props after the game - we know how heartbreaking it is losing at the death when we have played so well the rest of the game. Your style of play really reminded me of us last season when we played well yet got beaten for the first 3/4 of the season but then we suddenly clicked and won 7 out of our last 8. Good luck with the rest of the season.
Just seen the player stats on the Daily Mail website - Ruddy 6; Pinto 6, Bennett 6, Martin 7, Klose 6 (Mbokani 90+2), Brady 7; Redmond 7, Tettey 7, Howson 8, Naismith 6 (Jarvis 82, 6); Jerome 7 (Bamford 90+2). Definitely the highest I've seen in weeks, so we MAY have turned a corner. Our game against Swansea will be a good test!!!! Edit - we limited Vardy to a 5!!!!!
Hello Yellas, town fan in peace here. I thought I'd pop over to give my (brief) two cents on the match. I live near Leicester & happened to go along with a Norwich supporting mate who had a spare ticket & fancied checking out Premier League football... Given how dire we've been recently. Firstly, an impressive turn out & very vocal support. Out sang the home lot all game. The match itself wasn't a classic, I was a little disappointed with the quality (but I won't dwell on that, still a better than I'm use to).. As the match went on, it was Norwich who looked the most like scoring. In fact it was very harsh that Leicester nicked it late on.. But when your luck is out, it is very much out... And when you're top of the league the ball runs to you in the box For Me, Brady was one of the best players on the pitch. Looked superb, Jerome on the other hand worked tirelessly.. But simply isn't upto week in week out premiership football. His two 1st half chances were evidence of this and with a better striker you would have won today (and be a bit higher in the league at that) his hold up play was good in the 2nd half but ultimately he didn't offer enough cutting edge. That 1st chance early on should have been finished. Last point I want to make is the way you defended today. I've been used to seeing you gift goals but I was impressed to see you play a Bennett today (how Bassong has been playing has been a mystery) pinto looked decent as did the Swiss guy. If you keep this line up you will no doubt pick up points.. There are definitely clean sheets in this team and if you can get a bit more out of Redmond & Jerome you will pick up plenty more points. Overall I left feeling bittersweet as I felt that you were slightly unfairly done, but there were plenty of positives to take for those who follow Norwich, particularly if you stick with that back 4 who hardly looked troubled all match
Thats the story of our season I'm afraid. A lot of opposition fans have said the same thing, but, we did deserve it because we don't finish when we have the chance and switch OFF at too many critical moments, we're not learning! Good to see you lot on top of the premiership, I bet Man U wish they had gone for Ranieri instead of the waste of space thats LVG.
We had the same last year. We gave everyone a game but in the key moments lacked that bit of quality up front and at the back. Things turned towards the end and since then its been so much of a whirlwind i cant believe its true. So anything is possible If you defend how you did today and show abit more quality up front I think you will stay up Villa and Sunderland are dead meat so theres only 1 spot left between about 5 teams
To echo Proud, this is what we had last year. It wasn't nice at the time but it worked out well enough in the end I guess! Keep playing like that then there will be 3 teams that will finish below you. I hope Norwich stay up, proper club who deserve a run in the top flight
I thought we were so much better and I'm not that gutted to lose to hopeful champions. The back line was much tidier overall and Redmond had the kind of game we've been asking of him for a while. OTBC onwards and upwards
Yes, even I thought Redders put much more in to the game than of recent. We will need a very similar performance (without falling asleep for a few seconds) on Tuesday night to get even a point.
Including a rasping shot from the left corner of the area that fizzed narrowly past the post. Schmeicel didn't move, he just stood helplessly and admired it.
