Hamilton owes Merc as much as RB owe Renault for their past successes i.e. a lot.

i see little difference between the two. Now it's going wrong, their mouthing off, though think Hamilton has made just one comment about it out of frustration which he probably regrets, RB moaned all the way from the top down in the team and over a long period of time.

why can he not say how he feels? Am sure he has admitted his starts aren't good enough but your blind hatred of him focuses on anything you can bash him for only. if you were in his position would you accept cheerfully the situation? Of course not.

I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to find a Rosberg quote about his unreliability being unacceptable over the last two years. does that mean he is an ungrateful little so-and-so too?

Ocon is living the life testing the Mercedes and Renault at the Catalunya test. Lucky!

I'm pretty sure the team swap around isn't a complete mechanical team its an amalgamation, which was due to the bitter rivalry of the drivers spilling over into opposite sides of the garage. I think to insinuate either way that there is a completely inept group of engineers/mechanics who were the reason for Nico's misfortune last season and Lewis's this season is short sighted. For me it simply highlights the luck needed to win a championship - Lewis's 2nd place in Russia could easily have been a DNF - that may be the difference come the end of the season.

And still the pressure continues to rise at Ferrari. Just hours after reports surfaced in Italy that Sergio Marchionne was considering a change of team boss, the Ferrari president and CEO has told a media summit: "I expect us to win shortly - starting with Spain."

What if they don't? Heads will roll? Seems the Ferrari top brass have had enough.

Hard to ask for them to patient, considering the money they invest year in year out...
But they are at the start/middle/end (delete most applicable) of one of the most dominant periods of.. err.. dominance in F1 by Mercedes.
Not many will challenge them this year, there maybe the odd race where conditions suit other teams, reliability issue with one of the Mercs or a SC at the right time but if all races go to form, then I can't see Mercedes losing many races this year!

You can;t see a difference? Merc pay Hamilton, Renault don't pay RBR, they get paid.
And I would say RBR won those titles in spite of renault, not because of, their own works effort ended up 5th in the WCC with 1/3rd the points

Max, Danil and Sainz have been named for the press conference. I don't think Alonso will ever have answered so few questions for his home GP. Him, Hamilton and KMag can probably just sit there with some popcorn.

Danil will go to sit down and the director will say "sorry, that's max's seat, you're back there".

"Vettel, who won four world titles with Red Bull from 2010-13, said the decision had "nothing to do with what happened in Sochi" and it had been "decided beforehand".

Why would Vettel know that? What are RBR doing telling him about their decision making processes?

I do follow Vettel and support his career, but what has happened with Kvyat and his future really riled me. What pressure this young man has on his shoulders because of a couple of racing errors.

what has happened to Kvyat and his future exactly? Last time I looked he was still on the grid and being given time to improve, he was bumped up prematurely because Vettel left, and got some reasonable results (not great ones) last season, but has been way off his team-mates pace and failed to get out of Q3 in two out of four races and caused an accident that damaged his team-mate.
I suspect the point someone made about the swap being decided before Sochi but they didn't want to upset the locals.
As to the pressure he's been put under, better they find out now whether he cracks or not rather than a title decider, the aim of the Redbull driver academy is to breed champs, not chumps.

I thought that initially and then looked at the quote again, interesting that they break it into two parts like that, could've easily been "I think it had nothing to do with what happened in Sochi, and had probably been decided beforehand". The BBC are gutter press when it comes to F1 stories thanks to Benson.

Would be good to see the whole conversation and whether Benson has indeed cut and played with bits of it to make it read as he did.

Ferrari don't look too far behind Mercedes. Verstappen is right on Ricciardos tail. Hamilton 7 tenths off Nico after FP2. Raikkonen 8 tenths quicker than Vettel.

Massa spinning most of the time, and Grosjean angry with his Haas.
