Otamendi has been woeful for City. A hipster Skrtel, honestly. No brain.

Stones can play a bit but not sure he's going to reach the levels expected of him. Could be a good player in the right partnership/system though.

Still think we need a midfielder who can control play. Our midfield disappeared in the second half.

I'd just like to make a brief point on our midfield

    The REAL story is this

Henderson was booked. He could no longer make a challenge.

Can was not booked unitl 87min. He could no longer make a challenge after that.

I would like people to cast their minds back to the Swansea city game not so long ago. (october 1st)

    what occured.

    a) we played poorly.

    b) Jack cork got booked first half when swansea were 1 up

c)leon britton got booked on 53 mins. That's BOTH CMs booked

    d) we immediately score off free

    e) britton is hauled off on 63mins to not be sent off as we run RIOT through them.

did we play better or was it the case that their midfield could no longer put a foot in?

Bournemotuh RAN THOUGH US... why? cos we failed tactically to deal with henderson being in the book.

At 3-1 up can and wijnaldum could have sat n and helped but did not. This is a tactical and player failure. One simple change with can sitting in and basically tacking that frasier lad we'd have won that game handy.

If henderson had got a second yellow and gone off we would have put two midfielder sin and dug in ... and won the game

The fact is klopp got it really wrong in continuing to play with zero screen cos henderson was booked!

the prem works on fouls... you keep fouling til you get booked (usually refs let you away with murder til second half) then you rotate players.

    lucas out of contract
Sturridge yes, i can see him go but in the summer. (if klopp is not telling porkies)
Yes Mingolet will go, he has to if he's any balls to be a main man
    Moreno. I wish
Sakho is gone this january without question, lovren is going nowhere
Ings is injured. he's going nowhere
    Ilori is u23 and gone
    flalangan is pointless
Markovic is on loan and won't go til summer
Bogdan is out of contract anyway but did is cruciate so is just on the injured list

It's certain to me klopp will keep karius and lovren like it or no.

    • Nice striker Mario Balotelli was handed a £1m bonus by former club Liverpool after not getting red carded during his two-year spell at Anfield.
    Liverpool Echo.

    Glad it wasn't my money.

    So the shopping list reads:

    1 x CB
    1 x CM
    1 x LB
    1 x very fast winger

If we're lucky, we won't suffer any more injuries this season but highly unlikely. To maintain a top four challenge we need new blood more than ever. We have the cash. How likely is it? Who knows.

personally, I don't think that a GK is a must have in January to keep a top 4 challenge up. What we have has kept us in the race in that dept. to date.

Summer might be a different story. <ok>

Unless Karius gets his act together we're all doomed.
If he continues the way he has so far we will drop too many points, I'm certain of that. Organisation and tactics can cover other weak areas for the short term at least, but they're not going to cover a keeper who crumbles under pressure.

Imagine if we binned all of our new signings who didn't hit the ground running ...

I still think we need a good striker if we want to challenge. 2nd priority after LB.

I'd rather it be a wide player that scores. Someone like Sanchez or Hazard (but obviously not them, just examples)

Hard to put a priority on any of them. probably CM the lowest priority?

CB, LB, winger/striker are the 3 then!

Would you make a move for someone like Hart then? A lot depends on who is available that is already at a level good enough for us. There aren't too many world-class keepers around tbh

Lads sky told us we'd end up 5th anyway so just enjoy the games.

Stop trying to buy the world cos you will only go mad on feb 1.

Lets just win the league cup v utd eh... that should be our goal.

I think if you look at our squad, you'll find that the majority took a while to settle in.

Correct; Clyne, Matip, Milner, Ninja, Studge and Mane. That is it for those that hit the ground running, rest needed time.
