Social Corner is where just about anything can be posted to chat about. I don't mean the social chat that goes on within Daily Racing and other threads; long may that continue. I mean actual topics. I appreciate some/many may not be interested but, if anyone is, this may be a way of catering without cluttering the real horse racing related topics. An alternative would be to have individual threads but prefix the title with "Social - " (maybe with an option to have them indexed for future reference). Haven't really thought this through but it would be interesting to hear views on the concept. It's a bit like having our own General Chat section without the problems of that particular forum. An index has been started and can be found in The Horse Racing Forum Index
I have to say Ron, you are proving to most innovative in your approach to broadening the forum. It might be worth a try, you have nothing to lose.
Cyc who won the race at mount panama the was watching until the early hours but ended up falling asleep. What a track to race around for six hours. Are you a Holden or a ford man.Great racing that supercar v8
I'm a Ford man through and through Islander, I've had Fords just about all my life. We just can't seem to crack it a Mt. Panarama though. Garth Tander drove a fantastic last two laps in an unresponsive car, a Holden. Another Holden driver Craig Lowndes pulled about 4 minutes from the lead car in the last half dozen laps, but couldn't pass Tander, who drove the wheels of his beast. Cracking drive. He nursed the car over the mountain, then had first stab at the accelerator down Conrod straight. It gave him those extra few car lengths he needed to stave off Lowndes at the end of the straight. His car was wickedly quick in a straight line. His co-driver Nic Percat was having his first drive in the race, so a real fairytale finish for him.
Cheers Cyc the speed channel here is covering your races down under, its real bumper to bumper racing i love it,sorry for getting panararma name wrong even though its on the side the mountain as big as the hollwood sign. Good to here your a ford man just like myself
Every now and then I get to watch Nascar. Seriously, I believe it to be as good a motor sport as you can get. ( I think I might have said that in the past.)
Oh my God, Tiger Woods has been assaulted by a hot dog. Police said it could have been pretty ugly if it had been a chili dog that was thrown.
I'm sure I posted on here last night with a link to a Racing Post article about a wife-carrying contest at Bath races.................. or maybe I imagined it?
Here you go Cyc - thought this would tickle your fancy: http://www.bath-racecourse.co.uk/about-us/news-details.php?newsid=53
Oddy, I suggested it to the wife, she said that she has been carrying me for the last couple of years so it should be my turn.
I thought, from the description, we were talking about a race for 69ers. Just looked at the pictures and lost interest.
I love rocky road, now I'm not sure I'll ever eat the stuff again. I'll forever be thinking about the nuts in the stuff.
I've set up an Index in the The Horse Racing Forum Index. So any threads added will be added to the Index. On request from the author they can be removed from the index. I'll try to get it started with the odd video but, if I find I'm the only one contributing, I'll assume it's not popular enough to continue. It's just an experiment for members of the horse racing forum to share achievements/interests outside of horse racing and to generally socialise. We'll see how it goes.
