Sepp Blatter is total C*nt! What harm is it going to do? Honestly? Certain lines you don't cross when it comes to a countries right to show their respects. He has just crossed it !!!!

What complete trash, if they go by that reasoning then they would have to ban the black arm bands as well! Down right insulting, and i think England should pull out of the game if they are denied the right to honor our soldiers.

That's disgraceful. Seems quite petty to me that FIFA won't allow this.

The irritating thing is, it wont get enough media attention to cause any problems for FIFA and they'll go on without thinking a second though of it.

On a more positive note Chaplow just scored to make it 1-0! UTS

A twat of the highest order. FIFA is his own personal fiefdom and I don't think he'll shift from there until he snuffs it.

    I actually agree with joe.

Fifa have every right to ban it. Stop being so ****ing ignorant. Look at it this way, the poppy is remembering the British people in the war. I bet Germany, Japan etc are banned from wearing anything that has any significance of the wars. Don't give me "Germany started it".

By not having anything to do with the war on the shirt stops any friction between nations.

It commemorates British people who gave up their lives. How can that offend anybody?

It is a pathetic decision. It's not as if it adversely affects Spain, who would probably wear something for their own memorials, at other times. It also reflects badly on the Red Poppy. A few years ago we had the White Poppy situation, which was a huge overreaction to what the red one stands for. Now FIFA want to bury what is an important memorial to the UK. Bad judgement.

send Blatter £1,000 in a brown envelope - sorted. Typical FIFA arrogance under Blatter. The Poppy is a symbol of rememberance for the fallen, it does not commemorate military success or conquest. Perhaps in protest the players should wear black arm bands (with a poppy inside)
