I was 11. Still remember it, although a bit blurry now obvs. They had Lillee and Alderman bowling, Rod Marsh keeping. Proper legendary names. Just had a look, Botham got a duck first innings.
If Anderson proves his fitness he comes in for Woakes Denly’s 50 keeps him in by the skin of his teeth I can find a bat out the cupboard and replace Jason Roy. I can also bowl some dodgy spin. I would drop Jos Buttler for Ben Foakes but cant see them doing that Ollie Pope most likely to replace him if they drop him. So for Old Trafford I would go Opener A Burns Denly Root Stokes Foakes Bairstow Archer Broad Leach Anderson
For anyone who has seen Sin City or A Dame to Die For is this what Lyons would kook like without the excess sun screen
The best thing about Stokes' innings was the fact he completely ****ed off lifting his bat for the personal milestones, they would have been distractions from the mission and that is ****ing epic. I think Archer may get dropped for Anderson rather than Woakes (who has had a bit of a problem in the last 2 tests bowling too short), at least that is what I would do anyway. He bowls 90mph off a short run-up, it takes incredible amounts of energy and the guy is clearly lethargic from the effort. I would much rather he be carefully managed into Test cricket and perhaps convert some of that latent energy into a longer run-up for tests, than become an injury risk because he's being overused. Sibley is the best bet as an opener, Pope has come into form at the right time and I think deserves a shot, in place of Denly who looks limited. Even his 50 was dodgy as ****. Buttler should take the gloves from Bairstow, who is incompetent with them, and Jos also needs to be told make a century or get dropped for Foakes, who is unfortunate not to be playing already.
A lot dont unforetunately . I've taken people to Headingley that didn't like cricket but loved the day out that much they got into it
Good work mate. Down my way (Sussex) people tend to love it or hate it. Edit. Not hate it - but not get it.
After seeing Lyon miss that run out, it reminded me of when he dropped the ball deliberately on to Dr Villiers, after running him out in SA. Serves him right ha ha. Childish I know, but there it is.
Tim Paine said the stupidest thing ever saying because we still had a review. The umpire should have given Stokes out lbw as we could challenge the call You can umpire a match like that. He has to call things as he sees them right or wrong. Start factoring in reviews into an umpires decision making is an extremely dangerous move due to umpires call on drs Just because Tim Paine is useless as using his reviews doesnt mean the umpires should basically take pity on him If Paine wasnt the captain I think he would be in big danger of getting dropped. Alex Carey look decent with the bat and gloves during the world cup. Paine looks hopeless with the bat
thats brilliant i love hearing the convicts whinging only beaten by watching them blubbing like babes
He’s under huge pressure having ****ed up massively with that ludicrous wasted review. Lyon dropping the ball can happen but for a wicket keeper captain to review a clearly outside of leg delivery in that situation is unforgivable if they go on to lose this. They won’t though.
