Michael Fabricant is a shameless weazel.

He's on the BBC News channel now saying Boris is just like a teacher or a nurse, having a quiet drink after a long hard work shift.
    WTF! <doh>
Fabricant then said he personally knows healthcare workers who did this (went to the staff room for a drink at the end of a shift) and that in his view this is essentially all that Boris did, and that there was nothing wrong with it.

This guy is an absolute piece of work.
Equating Boris Johnson with healthcare workers exhausted after 12 hour shifts in full PPE trying to save dying people's lives.
    Utterly shameless rubbish.
Suggesting drinks parties in No.10 with invitations sent out and booze lugged in from off-licences are similar to an exhausted nurse having a drink in a staff room.
And making up that he knows nurses who did that. The man is an insulting quisling. A bare faced liar.

With No.10's blessing, no doubt, so there will be others closing ranks. Lying to Parliament repeatedly should be the main issue.

Agreed. If Johnson does not resign or is not removed, they might as well scrap the rule about misleading Parliament.
There will never be a more blatant example.
Even plainer than the dodgy dossier and 45 minute WMD deployment.

Boris scrapped it ages ago! The Speaker is pretty relaxed about it.

I didn't think I would be the only viewer to take exception to the insulting drivel of Michael Fabricant...

    Boris 2.png

Atempting to wrap the disgraced Prime Minister in the same cloak of admiration and gratitude that the British people feel for nurses because of what they went through during the pandemic is actually nauseating.

Fabricant is an offensive toady, who thinks nothing of insulting brave, selfless people to defend a self-serving privileged crook of a PM.

The next pandemic, boys and girls?

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-61696974

You're only supposed to catch this one by close contact - touching an infected person or that kind of thing.
That's what we've been told anyway.

Tin helmets on again - COVID19 is on the rise <monster>

    Up 40% after Jubilee weekend.
    1.4 million infected...
Driven by two more ultra-infectious Omicron variants. Fifth wave?
Dust off those lecterns Boris and break out the booze again :emoticon-0168-drink:emoticon-0169-dance<bubbly>:emoticon-0167-beer::emoticon-0166-cake:

Having been fully aware and respective of Covid since March 2020, I have been ULTRA aware given my vulnerability since my heart attack and bypass in August 2020.
However, rightly or wrongly, I have been of the opinion since last Christmas, I need to crack on with life. Covid is going nowhere.

You can do both. Avoid big indoor crowds, but still get out, sit in the pub, watch Charlton at the Valley, sit on the beach. We need to be careful, but not locked up again.

No talk yet about being given a yearly booster. A friend of mine, who had Covid early on pre-vaccination, got quite ill after the over-75's booster recently.

Spain will be doing the booster in the autumn (same as the flu jab I guess). Starting with the vulnerable and working down through the age brackets. I hope now that we've slowed down the vaccination program in Europe that we are passing the vaccine on to other places that lagged behind - another weird mutation coming from asia or africa will bugger the world up even further.

    Blimey, get well soon Ken.

Over here we've got Glasto, and 90,000 packing into Wembley to watch a pop singer.
Super-spreader events if ever I saw any.
But youngsters are partying like it's going out of fashion.
Guess they aren't too bothered. almost all of them get only mild symptoms or none at all.

If there's another lockdown I'll go and see my poor old mum at weekends whatever Boris says. But I'll stay outside her house and keep my distance.
It looks very much like there's a fifth wave coming in the UK.

First time with covid, yes. Be happy enough to avoid this a second time.

First deaths from Monkeypox announced outside Africa.

I didn't even know Monkeypox could be fatal. I thought it was just a nasty STD with potential to stress our health services even further.
And just a week ago I heard on the radio that coughs and sneezes can spread Monkeypox.
Until then they were saying it was spread through touch - direct contact between people, usually of the intimate variety.

If this thing mutates into a more contagious variant we could be looking at another global Pandemic.
Imagine millions of people covered in the sores this disease gives you.
It would be like one of the Plagues of Egypt for f**k sake.
