He's under pressure. When Stockley scores the winner for Fleetwood he'll be under even more pressure. Brownie & Curbs were trying so hard not to criticise him personally yesterday, but were so scathing about our tactics that they actually did a bit of a demolition job while trying not to.
Brownie at one point that we had acwholecweeknto prepare for Oxfoed, and. we were completely outplayed for most of the first half. We've been changing manager much to often for year now- it's part of our general instability, nso I don't want yet another sacking, and a similar appointment a week or so later. But Holden needs to turn this around quickly. Yesterday was poor again. He has too many youngsters, and we need some older heads in there. Hector has the experience to be sramping authority on the defence, but he's just not there.
Holden was doing OK for the final third of last season. Granted those games were dead rubbers - we were never getting into the top 6. And we had Rak-Sakyi & Leaburn in the team. But I don't believe DH just became a rubbish manager over the summer. (having said that, it happened to Adkins ) I don't think changing the gaffer will help much now. He's an easy scapegoat. The leader of the Wrexham forum is calling for his head so I hear. Very predictable. But Holden is the new owner's man remember, not Sandgaard's.
Feel sorry for him , very likeable chap , think he’s been let down with ****e he’s inherited and promised budget not forthcoming
He's been particularly unfortunate with injuries. Camara and Fraser would probably be in our strongest midfield, enabling him to bring Anderson on more slowly. And no-one could have known that Hector would be so poor this season- we were all pleased when he signed. JR-S covered a multitude of sins lasat season too. Having said that, he's not immune from criticism, as Brownie & Curbs showed.
Our old friend Kojak is saying that word is going around that Holden and his two assistants have been given the bullet. If true, or even when they do, they'll bring in a clown. A f****** shambles.
Charlie probably said he got the bullet once he heard his mate Johnson was sacked by Hibs. Comedy Gold if Johnson comes in.
Strong stable management. So how do we finish the transfer window if we font know who the manager is?
All part of the plan. It will go something along the lines of “There was money to spend, but the new manager (insert name) wants to evaluate the squad. We will have a better idea of what’s needed in January”
Holden has been dealt a pretty poor hand. Around 9 or 10 players out injured. A squad that needed rebuilding but the final pieces in the puzzle never seemed to arrive, and forced to use at least two promising youngsters full tiem every game when the ideal would be to introduce them late on when the game was won or we needed a quick fix. And there is a rumour that he was told no new players would arrive while he persisted with Kirk, McGrandles and Payne, hence their non involvement saturday. But,..... nice chap as he is, some of his decisions were odd to say the least, and the farsical defensive mistakes were becoming inevitable. Saturdays second goal by Oxford was a sunday league goal to give away, as was the Hector mistake against Bristol, and starting with the line up we started with at Oxford after a week on the training ground was painful to watch. So Holden is now the past and I wish him the very best for the future. The owners however, have chosen to leave us with no manager with a week left of an important transfer window. To justify sacking Holden, they need to replace him with a better option (that Moore guy who was at Sheffield Wednesday for example). Obviously they can go for a cheaper option if they prefer, but that will just staple down what a few fans have been saying for a while that they are just another species of Sandgaard management. And if that is the case, they'd have done better to save the money on paying off Holden and spent it on backing him instead. Their next step as owners will be very much in full view of the fans - there were a few on Twitter yelling for a changa, but the majority were unhappy with the situation but generally accepted Holden was being short changed.
The managers are not the problem, it is the pricks who own us. Oh yeah, Dushitelet still owns the assets!
Remember the Aussies? They were going to pay Roland's asking price before he changed it, and instal that Aussie manager who's now at Spurs. They got fed up with him moving the goalposts.
