So, by popular demand - well, from @luvgonzo anyway, what’s yer favourite pint? If I’m in Blighty I love get a pint of Hopback Summer Lightning. Also Landlord is a great pint usually. Here, a decent Guinness, if I can find one. Or I stick to Mahou ( especially red label) or Estrella.
Of all the middle of the road supermarket boxed beers, Becks is the worst. You need to branch out man, there are some very decent lagers out there. Moretti and Estrella for a start, they'll be just next to Becks on the supermarket shelf! The Spanish (Mahou included) and Italian lagers are easily the best (IMHO) lagers to drink proper cold in summer, followed by the French stuff. I like the American craft lagers most though. Boston and Brooklyn lager are both superb, although not as session style as the European ones. Anchor Californian lager and steam beer are also notably good. there's loads of craft beer now, too many to know much about them. Pricey though. Agree that ordinarily Timothy Taylor Landlord is the best British pale ale. It doesn't travel especially well recently though as when I've had it here (Bath) and in Devon it wasn't as good. The Bath Ales are all really good, Gem especially. An Ale I discovered out west that I will always have if I get the chance is Dartmoor Jail Ale. Bloody magic that, proper head wobbler.
More of a cider man though having said that. Strongbow is my go-too down the boozer but whenever I head down to Devon to see some fam I usually buy a couple crates of Henry Westons.
God you try to tell people what your favorite beer is on a favorite beer thread and everyone goes crazy and calls you names. I get why methh doesn't post anymore
Don't worry, mines Stella. I bet I take a battering now. I did prefer the old Stella, the wife beater stuff. I like drinking it in a vest and pants.
