Can you imagine the feeling that morning where you sit down with a coffee, open up newsnow for the first time that day and see the news... It's going to be surreal.
As a leading member of one of the potential buying groups he has had to sign an NDA, so unfortunately can no longer be our go-to man for an inside scoop on whats going on.
I think this time its for real - he wants to concentrate on building up his empire of quality UK retail establishments and needs the sale money to buy Poundland.
Don’t worry lads. My mate Baz told me it’s deffo happening. He works at the club in the finance team.
It's Richard Branson. He plans to rename the ground the Virgin arena. Most Geordie women will be banned from the ground.
If it is going to happ one of your better ones windy. Read an article on the mag last night which was basically saying the takeover news IS a load of bollocks. What will the atmosphere be like if it does not go through. Plus on a nice positive note Ashley’s net worth over the last year has gone down by 66%. Happy
The more I think about this the more I think it’s all just Keith Bishop spin. Shearer got it spot on.. it’s the same as previous years and is too close to the Jan transfer window and ST renewals. The fat man is playing us.
Of course it’s happening because it’s in his clear self interest to do so. NUFC is no longer serving a purpose. Plus people seem willing to meet his valuation. Even press association sport are reporting it. Ignore the stupid, paranoid Geordie blog sites. They’re just opinions, and as is the norm for NUFC they’re usually full of negative bias.
From what I have read, making alterations to 'Articles of Association' is a bit a of a nothing event. Not required legally to facilitate a sale in any way. Indeed, the last time they were changed for NUFC was back in 1999, way before Ashley bought the club. Looking at it cynically it wouldn't be surprising to find that they have chosen to do this to add weight to a fictitious 'we genuinely tried to sell' storyline. Just before the transfer window, of course.
