Getting abuse from not just Old Reamsy then? I always thought there were some good posters on there, but if it's become an out-and-out anti-Sandgaard forum that bothers me, because it's a sizeable forum, even though I haven't peeped in for months. I imagine Reams's antipathy to CARD is something to do with it.
I doubt the whole forum is becoming Anti-Sandgaard. But it is being dragged in that direction by a few prominent members. As time passes and the longer term effects of the new ownership and direction at CAFC begin to be felt, I think that outright opposition to TS and the modernisation of Charlton Athletic will become very marginal and irrelevant - wherever that opposition comes from. Perhaps we cannot have our dreams fulfilled this season. But then it took over 18 months for the gradual dismantling of CAFC under Roland's incompetent CEO to really show its full effects. Healing us now may take even longer.
Calling for Sandgaard's head makes no sense, quite apart from being just wrong. TS is clearly a good guy, is smart, and has CAFC's best interests at heart. Anyone who calls for his head makes himself look bitter and peevish, it just doesn't make any sense, whatever way you look at it.
I keep saying, over there were always going to do this and be the opposing viewpoint to CL. It's not surprising.
I assume that there is not a strong vein of anti-Sandgaard opinion on CL then? Only asking purely for information, as I don't go there these days. I imagine some members there are pretty frustrated by our poor start to the season. But if CL has not generally turned hostile to TS (as a majority viewpoint) I'm glad. That is a big forum. How it sees things does carry weight.
There is criticism of TS for sure. The transfer window hasn't been good. But nowhere else is the abuse so heavy. Sad times. I watched the stream on saturaday and Curbs said ' I bet there are a few applauding the team off who are embarassed by their reaction after the Wigan game'. Think again mate. The ones yelling at TS to spend spend spend are still moaning.
Well said Curbs I've never been so sickened by anything I've seen or heard at a Charlton match, than I was at the end of the Wigan game. He was obviously dismayed by it too. But I know what you mean Ken. There will always be some who'll never be satisfied. Usually the type who would welcome Red Bull or a billionaire Sheikh to buy the Club and turn it into a franchise or a toy. People who'd sell the soul of our Club in exchange for buying success. They're perfectly entitled to that view of course. But it goes too far if they actually want Sandgaard gone because he doesn't match their demanding standards. If that position is still a fairly small minority on CL I'm pleased to hear it.
Who do they want to buy the club for £1? Paul Elliot? The Dentist? Mouthall? Or is it "Anyone but Sandgaard"? Do they know how stupid they look to the vast majority? They'll give the rest of us a bad name, just like the ones who used to phone 606 to say Curbs had taken us as far as he could.
They're enjoying themselves really. They haven't had somebody to really stick the boot into for a couple of months. honestly, some of the stuff is hilarious. Roland is being pined for like a long lost lover. I know I'll not achieve anything by challenging the anti-TS nonsense, but maybe it reminds the people pushing that agenda that their forum does not speak for the majority of Charlton fans. something F4F were reminded of just last week. The leaders of that group were sensible enough however to realise they had made the wrong call.
Hi Mundell Keep looking in - you know you get some proper laughs and friendly banter here on Charlton not606
I used to love those Granadas. Like the one off The Sweeney (early years). My dad had one, so did a mate I used to play snooker with. Bronze coloured, 2.8 or 3 litre, I can't recall which. The loveliest soft suspension, and power to spare. Fantastic motors. Some people wanted the rare coupe version, but I always liked the 4 door saloon. Would love to buy one even now, but I'll have to win the lottery first.
You forgot Roddy out and Gallen out Just noted that you got some of the old ITTV hospitality the other day @Smudger603 They sure are a tolerant, friendly bunch on there. Great sense of humour too. Makes a fan wonder why he'd want to post anywhere else...
