It’s ok lads, “we only had a 10 minute spell where we went a bit flat” That means the other 80 minutes they were doing what he wanted and we are just a bit ****
I'm confused, I came on here a few weeks back and was told quite clearly, you were being entertained and that was ALL that mattered - See Smugs for details. I gently advised your pretty football and possession would win you nowt, 64% possession tonight. Obviously there is also the other theory of relativity, that I'm often told... Charlton Rotherham Sheffield Wednesday they must have all upped their game against you.
I agree with Johnson n that we were better team between the boxes and they were the better team in the boxes. They defended better than us and were clinical. If one of our 3 or 4 chances comes off it turns the game. Instead, every time we have “that” chance they waltz down the other end and score. There was no way in a million years we deserved to lose that 3-0 in football terms. But Flanagan is the Flanagan we all saw last season, and Doyle literally looks like he’s lost out there. Doyle wouldn’t even be in the squad fir me next league game. He needs to be out of the side.
I am still trying to understand why this bloke was not sacked in the summer, it was so obviously the correct thing to do I said at the time if we kept him on he would be gone by October, I was wrong, 'cos he is still here.
I don't enjoy that interview at all, he looks gutted. Don't know him or situation but he comes across as someone who cares a lot and is really invested in this.
Exactly. Based on the limited bits and pieces that I've seen, what he said sounds like an honest assessment of what happened. Don't see why people get so upset with what he says. There are clearly some issues that need working on in defence but you don't sack a manager because of that. He is under pressure because we've lost three on the trot but any manager would be.
@Prehab26 when Poyet knocked us back what were his reasons, do you think if LJ went there could be another conversation?
This goes back to my points made in the summer. I said I wouldn’t blame Johnson if we are not promoted, and I won’t. It comes down to the lack of investment once again. I’m not ruling out promotion, we have the same chance as we had last year, when we also majorly lacked investment into the team.
Spent approx £160 on that "match" tonight. And now standing outside Central Station waiting for a taxi. Very disappointing
I’d love the chance to go to away games again! Not bothered about results at any of the ones I’ve been to, just enjoyed every one as it’s been a great day out. Used to go all the time
I finished watching these play away after the 6-0 defeat at Derby in 1991, went back in 2004 for the f a cup semi and look what happened, christ the north of England teams are in a **** state at the minute, what the hell is wrong ?, we are at our lowest point in history now.
I’m amazed at how fans think by changing the manager is the automatic answer.... it NEVER has been that for Sunderland, we are in a bad run... we’ve had them before we will have them again whoever the manager is. To call for Johnson’s sacking now is so fickle, but for people managing our club must know that about about a section of our support
