If It wasn't for the media , Trump may not be the president of the USA or even particularly well known .
I've never trust the media and just watching something as simple as that validates why, well before Trump ever be came President.
Good to be critical and skeptical of media and drill down to understand their bias. Trump though ****s in his own bed and posts it on twitter. No manipulation needed. The man is a narcissistic fruitcake.
Not sure the last part of your comment is quite true, that would be like someone saying they didn't know who Richard Branson was.
The Media from all sides has been way to.powefull for many years now . Lots of people are so easily swayed , and I suppose I include myself in that ref one particular recent thing .
Years ago I was staying with relatives in a cabin by a lake .( in Illinois) Hurricane was due , I heard nothing ( was a bit disappointed tbh) . Woke in the morning , the Hurricane had hit not to far away and someone was killed . My cousin said , see , calm before the storm . Rubbish , heany wind and rain , and the person that died was an elderly person who had a heart attack . Hurricane my arse , doubt we would even call it a storm , no trees down , nothing .
Always remember many years ago travelling out to Miami, was a lot of reported gun crime especially on tourists at the time. People couldn't believe i was going. Never saw any one attacked or shot at the whole time i was out there. The media just creates frenzy. Although i have been caught bang in the middle of a tropical storm before, scary ****. My own fault, instead of taking refuge thought i could out run it in a vehicle, BIG mistake, cut right across my path. Will never forget it.
Seems to me , no matter where you go on holiday , if you go looking for trouble , you will find it . Also if several sources / chat sites etc say to avoid an area , you probably should avoid it . It's not difficult.
This It's the same for life in general I've found, if you go looking for trouble you'll find it, if you aren't street wise, you'll make yourself vulnerable and if you are naive, you'll get taken advantage of. I've travelled to some places that are considered 'too dangerous' for tourists and I've always found that as long as you take a good attitude, try to blend in, treat the locals well and respect local customs, then you will be welcomed like a brother.
Hmmm can be quite easy to stray in to areas you shouldn't be when driving though. Im talking before SatNavs. Worst one for me was LA....i'm sure it wasn't long after some riots at the time, strayed into a neighbourhood i knew i shouldn't be in. The flyover for the Highway was above me, fooking find the next slip road to it though couldn't come quick enough. It was ok just act relaxed...hang on..im driving a big motor through an area i shouldn't be in...fook off Kev
