After yesterday I am not sure why Keane would come if honest. Johnson would have got us to play offs and that is now Keanes job. He may lift them a bit but with Hoffman and that defence there is no way we will make top 2 anymore.

We are closer to being 7th than going up and that's because we are not good enough at the back. If Keane can see Neil Doyle Evans Gooch need to be dropped it will be a start but it just feels a pointless appointment after yesterday's embarrassment

I'm 100% sure but we're all different.

I hope its today, I said to my son yesterday
At the match, when then went off a half time, can you imagine the players faces when they go in to the dressing room if Keane was sat there , they would ****ing **** themselves. They will be dreading going to training tomorrow if he's announced today

Shouldn't be the case for professional footballers though. Not saying your wrong, some may. But I just think if I was in a league 3 team and Roy Keane came in, I'd think "wow, here's someone to learn a thing or two from, let's get stuck in".

As for all the data analysis, so it identifies players with recent stats of form etc, but does it have the human element of picking character. ?

Luke Edwards of the telegraph has said it’s advanced
Ah right. All the stranger then. I have absolute faith in Prehab and Wheatsheaf (it's more a shock that Edwards is actually close to the mark for once!). What do you think they were trying to achieve with doing the interview? I mean Speakman will have requested it, it's not as if he's been caught on the hop.

I'm asking this as someone that really likes Speakman too.

It's been good but they ****ed up with allowing flanno to go without getting another one in. He won't admit it but they know if. They expected one to come in but it didn't happen.

Think I read we bid Portsmouth for a replacement, only came back with a decent offer 15 minutes before the window closed but they were sticking with what they had by then

Worth saying that Edwards, and the others, had nothing on this before Keane was seriously mooted here.

They know sod all these days, and judging by the record over the last year or so, appear to peruse here and other places, knock up a story, and attribute it to " sources". But it doesn't look like they have any.

We thought we were close Liam Moore and Kongolo and Speakman said there were loan bids for a few others (presumably as bids failed). Fry said we tried for Beevers from P'Boro too.

There's no question that they know we're one short there. For me O'Nien is now a CB option again for the rest of the season and we need to hope he's back and up to speed soon.

Footballing Cider (Peter O'Rourke) seem to me like the only new outlet with a good and consistent source close to the club (Speakman I suspect).

Yep. Completely cocked it up it looks like.

Agree about 09. For most of his stretch there last season he looked born to the manor. He might not like it, but I'd have him there when he's fit.

The more I think about it, the more KLD/KS' comments about Johnson's sacking being an accumulation of things, rather than a single defeat the more I think they should have acted sooner. Sacking the manager the day before the transfer window (when we have obvious gaps in the squad) smacks of arrogance on Speakmann's part - almost as if he believes that he is running the show and Johnson was irrelevant when it came to signing players. The same arrogance that had them play 3 games whilst the squad was riddled with covid
