Someone in the middle of the line to their left had been eating curried eggs (to excess) the previous night !
That was a long time before kick off as it was an evening game as well. How did people manage to stand up for hours with no beers on sale, no phones to keep them occupied...?
Absolutely Not I’d see it at half time because I’m too busy explain for the fourth time what bitter is …not that I’m bitter! seriously though I don’t know what is on at half time but presumably if kids games go on at half time that would be a way to get their parents in the ground too?
I think that there is one thing we may all agree on … any new owner needs to get a bloody good marketing team.
Agreed Linked actually. Do you know how many people are in the memberships team?…do you want to know his name?!!!
Obviously different seasons but I don't see what difference that makes. We got 3,000 more fans for cheap tickets vs Chelsea than we did for just playing Chelsea. Cheap tickets filled the ground.
Would I be correct in thinking that was the Chelsea replayed game in '66 ? Hitch-hiked to both games from Leeds. Brilliant team performance at The Bridge (Waggy earned us the replay) and the replay had Osgood back ( he'd missed the Saturday match) and he made the difference. Wonderful memories. https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/hull-city-chelsea-fa-cup-1214749
I think people wanting to see some big names in a season of dross was more the reason. Who knows for certain?
