What changed in the interim? He went to Bayern and found out that he isn't such a good manager after all.
Everton in real trouble. Williams having an absolute stinker of a game. But credit to Burnley: their away form is as good this year as it was bad last year. Could well be a surprise top half finish this season.
Burnley are a point off a CL place, having played Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool & Everton, all away, so far!
It's too early to fully condemn his business over the summer, but the Barkley fiasco ruined him. Koeman was clearly banking on getting a thick wad for "Gazza Mk II" - hence the absurd initial valuation of £50m and the speed at which they accepted Chelsea's £35m bid when it became clear that the player was injured until November. Koeman put all of his eggs into a basket with very thick eyebrows, relying on that sale to fund a proper replacement for Lukaku's goals instead of the bit-part panic or fantasy signings that were clearly brought in as a Plan B or as long-term prospects for the future. They are desperately missing Coleman and Bolasie - and look horrendously narrow without their play down the flanks. Both are due back in action before xmas but the way this is going, the damage could well be done and they could be returning to play for a different manager. At the same time, the length of their injuries was clearly known by Koeman - so why sign so many central players when you have cash in hand? A few Everton fans I know are praying for the club to approach Ancellotti. There aren't any bigger clubs looking for a manager and he's supposedly got a soft spot for the PL (just not for a certain angry Russian man who owns one of the sides in the PL), so who knows? Would be a coup and a half if Moshiri could talk him into it.
There's not a lot in life that can't be linked back to some part of The Shawshank Redemption. Today's link is to the legend upon the warden's wall......... "His judgment cometh and that right soon." I bet Ross Barkley would like to think that the last thought that went through Ronald Koeman's brain was "How did Ross Barkley get the best of me?"
Rotten timing for him as the International break gives the club an extra excuse to get rid now and get someone in before the players return. But in this day and age, Koemans number was pretty much up before this result I think.

The Poool join the Goons and Chelsky in a dogfight with Burnley and Watford for CL slot 4 and the EL places.
Increasingly, as I watch Koeman and Klopp [Dutch lawyers?] trying to hide the realities of their teams' performances, I am hearing this over the tinnitus in my head............ .........sing along now.............. "Herr Klopp is in the altogether, The altogether, The altogether.....
