Found this on YouTube. It’s not just Mick Channon goals and worth a look just to see some of the great players we once had. I think every Saints player mentioned would be a step up on what we currently have in the squad.
Think this has been coming for a while as his contract is up next summer. The idea of losing him for £15m a couple of years ago would have been worrying, but I can't remember his last good game without a mistake for us. That said, there is a player in there somewhere.
CGT had it right when he said he's 50% Virgil Van Dijk and 50% Dick Van Dyke. But absolutely if you can iron out the mistakes, there's a hell of a player in there - pace, power, bravery etc. Ironically he needs a Jose character alongside him. Still, when he and ABK were playing together under Ralph (a combo that's been weirdly missing since Ralph left, injuries aside) they looked pretty good.

He has all the tools as you say but his problem is concentrating for 90+ minutes which is vital at the top level when top players will punish you. He does need guidance through the game at this stage of his career and certainly Bedders is not the man to give it judging by their disasterous partnership! I agree that he is much better with ABK but still switches off occasionally, particularly at set-pieces.
I think it was Antonio said he was up there with the toughest defenders he’s faced. VVD first and Salisu second. Would like to have seen him push on rather than move on but hey ho I think ABK is better all around.
In fairness, that is exactly what you want from an older 3rd choice keeper. Rather than take the money, rest on his name and sit in the background, he is actively trying to help in a lot of ways.
He has been awful in every appearance since we signed him, both in PL and against league 2 sides. If we can get close to what we paid for him then we have dodged a bullet. Hope he doesnt hang about and take up more of our wages.
I said when we signed him that a 30 year old who had never played in anything close to a major league in his career was a huge red flag. He scored a hattrick against Spurs though and came 3rd in the World Cup I’m not completing writing him off either as it’s too early for that, but I think he is the same as signing a 20 year old with minimal first team experience in a good league, he will need time to settle and adjust if he doesn’t hit the ground running, which he clearly hasn’t
If I was orsic, I’d be on the blower to my agent telling him to shut the **** up. He’s put in embarrassing performances so far. He probably needs a run of game time to be sure, but I agree, he looks nowhere near the level
