This it the way I see what’s happening,

I think Stewart has had a slap on the wrist from FPP about what he has been saying regarding the takeover.

FPP then cooled the takeover talk, around the same time the “off” report comes out and Stewart has felt the backlash towards him multiply and put him in a bent-over of position.

Ross was sacked to help the deal.

Methven then provided the updated that said we would or wouldn’t get the investment (a little different from the better than 50/50) to appease FPP.

Talks are picking up again.

I am still quietly confident of the takeover, however I think we must win the next few games to get near the top of the table so we look more attractive.

Could be completely wrong like, anyway it’s only October, ha’way the lads!

This was posted on the night of the Consett talk-in. For me this was the one that started the doubts. The description of the body language spoke volumes that all was not going as we hoped and expected. SD gave a non comital explanation “ it was on going etc more than 50/50 etc.” But we’d had Jack Ross saying he’d met or spoken to the “new owners” and the Max Power interview after the Sheffield Utd game in which “new owners” and “richest club in the world” was mentioned. Now CM is saying it was never about new owners just about future investors. Things don’t add up here and although they done a lot of good things since they arrived, the goodwill they have created has taken a massive dive with the way they gave let thus run and they way it has eventually panned out.
Let’s just hope the new manager scenario works out well cos the next thing that goes pear shaped and I reckon the tide could turn against SD and CM

Nothing adds up mate.

Let's go weapons grade cynic for a second.

Yanks decide to buy the club, L1 and going nowhere fast, but want total control.

Donald does a deal, allows them to register a new company at the SOL, tells his pet fanzines, agrees to replace the manager, etc ....

... then realises his investment could go viral if they take the club to the PL.

So he starts to dig his heels in wanting a role in the club, investment but not a takeover and the chance of associated glory.

The Yanks dig their heels in and Donald starts to panic realising he could be caught in no man's land.

Something serious happened between the Dell t-shirts and the current impasse, that's for sure.

In some cases I would agree but in this particular case I know for a fact that unsubstantiated rumours across social media were driving the club to distraction during a very difficult time.

I understand that they were particularly concerned about statements that the deal was done when in fact it was never done and discussions were still very delicate.

The only reason I posted on here in the first place was as a concerned fan of the club and I could see what was happening.

It's pretty clear from the club's statement that my concerns were accurate.
Sorry I don't buy that
When they thought it was almost over the line they were happy to drip feed info to fanzine sites etc
Even talking to fans at the talk in.
But as soon as it started to hit problems last week Everything dried up
They then retrospectively start complaining that speculation on social media isn't helping when it's obvious they were feeding the info initially'
I'm not complaining or blaming them think they were just pretty excited about the potential deal.
But I think it's a bit rich to come out after the event and say don't " attach undue credence to speculation and theories from various sources"
When in my view they were seeding those sources in the first place they shut things down pretty well after Tuesday so they could easily have done that earlier
May be wrong but just my view

Weren't we told that all the body language was much more positive than the words spoken?
Not sure mate. Just the image I had of serious expressions and arms folded seemed to tell me that it wasn’t going to be the good news we were all hoping for. The euphoria never returned after the Consett shindig

I reckon you could be right , Donald looked into the future where safc were In the top six and worth millions and he'd sold up for only 40 million so he woke up and moved the goalposts

You could be right, and if that is the case, not only is he caught in no mans land but all the searchlights are on him now!

Out of all the fantastical theories that sounds sadly realistic.

I know what I was told and who from mate ....

... then I start getting 'libel warnings' from Hotlips and weird text messages to my mobile.

Summats not right.

If he has then he is an absolute fool but I doubt it. He even said himself that he didn't try haggle or change price, could be talking **** but who knows?

I still trust him but if it comes out in the wash he was the reason for this failing then.... not only myself will be a bit pissed off to say the least.

I said that at the time but there's a lot more.

Who is this Hotlips character sending me pm's and instructing me that Methven will confirm what he's said if I contact him?

Why was I banned from RTG but no one has ever provided an explanation?

Etc, etc, etc ...

If that comes out as what happened then he will be run out of town.

I’m already considering binning my season ticket when it comes to renewal.

Heard its because the dell lads don't like Methvens red trousers and told Donald to sack the trousers and replace them with a more fashionable pair.

Donald said no, he knows the bond Methven has with red trousers and salmon liners on his blazers.

Dell said they're not paying money to a lad who wear salmon shades.

Something... Something... Something... Here we are.

If the Americans are still interested, and I am sceptical, I think there financial guys have told them we aren’t worth what SD is asking. I think we are still a bargain but they won’t want to be seen to be fleeced by someone they would regard as an amateur, hence the delay, it’s off etc.

Surprised there's been no talk about Sartori and the role he's playing in the negotiations. He owns 20% of the club and the Dell boys might want him out. What if its him who's digging his heals in.
