That 1 year deal for 30 year olds is a ****ing stupid policy anyway, needs to be canned.
Players can carry on WAY into their 30's now.

The only thing on this forum that is tragic for CFC is you, mate.

 

Seeing how contracts can be broken nowadays, it does seem pretty silly to limit age to 30. Except, by 33 MOST players are slower and less good than they were at 29/30, so I can see that 5 year contracts for 30 year olds could be problematic. Maybe we might work backwards from say 34. A 30 year old gets 4 years, 31 year old 3 years etc. Can't see the players loving that though especially if the wages drop for each year of age as well, which would be sensible for the Club.
Imagine Hazard getting 5 years when he turns 30 @ £300,000 per week and being as slow as Fabregas by the time he's 33 !! Expensive .

When we won the league under Jose first time and Conte, it was because the system was changed early in the season to get the best out of the personnel we had and because we did something other teams in the league were not doing.

I fear we have become predictable in set up and we're not getting the best out of some of our key players. Kante obvious example.

ampadu, rlc and Hudson odoi need a lot more game time as well but that's another issue.

 

We’ve been found out but it’s early days as these are the first bricks in the wall. Sarri was given an introduction in championship sides that occasionally rise up a division. They can’t match the skill but apply a rough and in your face version of play which certainly but our prima Donna faces out of whack. Need another four players to achieve true completion for places.

 

I absolutely agree it's early days and not Sarri's fault he's been left with some of the personnel he has.

However his unwillingness to change things up, almost always making like for like substitutions is a worry. Means we have 1 way of playing and don't react as games develop.

The Spurs game was an obvious, example. Jorginho was having a mare, the press was not working, Kante was being allowed the ball as he couldn't hurt Spurs in the way Hazard or Willian could. He allowed that to continue into the 2nd half until the 3rd goal went in and the game was dead.

Anyone could see that moving Kante into DM would have made a massive difference in that particular game as Kane and Alli were running riot and Jorginho was off the pace of the game. How can an experienced manager on millions a year not see it?

He's also picking players based on their ability to press more than their form or other abilities. RLC and Odoi are both being left out because that are not as tactically astute as others. But they are also 2 players we have who have the ability to go past people and are unpredictable. Everything we are not at the moment. Even Hazard is hugely predictable, he just has the talent to compensate.

if these kids Start combined 15 games, I would take top 10 finish.. This will bode well for the future. I would support Sarri..
But I don't see that Fraud doing this.
