I think the recruitment team have earned some time with some/most of their decisions.....however....this is high tarif, I really hope they have lined things up and we end up with a well balanced squad at the end of the window. This could be a master stroke or it could go tits up
In hindsight getting in the play offs last year could have been a hinderance if we’d finished say 12th? Which we weren’t a million miles from to be fair I don’t think there’s the worry amongst the fan base there is right now, the targeting automatics comment also hasn’t helped, with the teams coming down etc I think top ten probably is still a good season given where we’ve been the last few yearsNobody is going to want to hear it, and it is taking me some hesitancy in writing it, but perhaps the absolute best thing for our chances of being a Premier League club in the next 3 years is to acknowledge that this is going to be another season of consolidation in the championship, with players settling and gaining experience and saleability. And then sell a couple of them for good fees early next summer allowing for a real attack NEXT season.
I know thats what people wanted this season. But perhaps its just the case that our players need another season to establish themselves to get the credibility to ensure the fees we get are sufficient to bring in the depth and quality we need.

It's not making money, it's about losing less, it's about being sustainable and I for one am all for it. I know I'm in the minority but I just can't relate to everyone stomping their feet and demanding we spend more for a bit of short term gratification without knowing/understanding the reasons behind the approcah.I think it’s healthy to have a less ‘manager reliant’ approach as a club to maintain consistency but too managed managers is a bad thing. The manager has to respect they are building a club and managing the overlapping challenges of FFP and the like - I think Mowbray does - and the club need to listen to the manager if he thinks we need to change to be competitive- that’s where the evident difficulty is for me like. Definitely feels like we put money making first, competitive second. Over time that may work but only if we are an attractive club to play for ie we don’t lose too many. I think that without Amad and a striker we’ll have good approach play and not finish and without the right DM we’ll keep conceding on the break. As I thought last season. The one positive is we’ve added height which was my other worry.
Say we get a striker in and we start playing the attractive football again like last year and fall short finishing 8th - 12th yes we will likely lose a big name in the summer window but we then likely have the funds to compete I guess that’s ultimately what this model is, it’s still in its infancy and alien to a lot of us, people (me included) tend to struggle with change and patience is rarely given in footballYeh - expectations are higher than they would have been if we'd lost our final 2 games and finished 12th.
That's football and life though. We all say we want long term success but the human nature, especially in something emotive is to want it NOW.
I have no idea and would hate to be in Speakman's mind but it feels to me like he has a long term plan mapped out and absolutely nothing gets in the way of that.
And whilst he's at the club we have to trust he's right.

I believe the opposite is true. He can.in january i think it's and foreign club he can open talks with after his contract has ran out anyone, not saying it won't happen behind closed doors but don't think he can sign a pre contract with any english club until it's ran out
Reasons to be cheerful: -It certainly isn't 'depressing' though![]()

What to we reckon? Replacements all ready in the building.
Pritchard - Dack
Batth - Trinstis / Steedt
Gooch - Huggins
Then maybe two CF and the squad is complete until January 24.

Could be something in what you say. That brief appearance on the scene of that foreign coach a short while ago has certainly created questions. We know the owners believe in long term plans so would TM be regarded as a part of that?Bingo
The only down grade to me there is losing DB however I havnt seen enough of the 2 centre half's to pass judgmentWhat to we reckon? Replacements all ready in the building.
