We just can’t do a season without stress can we, mid table mediocrity just doesn’t cut the mustard. Loving this season but the blood pressure is rising again, getting too old for this but couldn’t live without following the lads.
    Can’t wait for Tuesday!

One of my best mates is an old school Birmingham lad. Has a lot of tales to tell. He said to me a while ago the younguns arent recognisable. I reminded him of days in Brum I experienced and he just laughed and said it was always fair on fair. This chucking of stuff is something he hates, likes us to be honest.

A bit of quality settled the game, Amad Diallo!

We started positively, Amad put Gooch in and his cut back is taken off the toe of Pritchard. When we moved it at a faster tempo and ran at them we looked dangerous! We then seemed to settle into a pattern of possession for the sake of it and the intensity when we had the ball disappeared, tbf there wasn't much in the way of movement but this allowed Birmingham to come into the game. Chong and Khadra were dangerous, Patto had already saved well from Chong and then when he got in again Hall was unmarked to sweep home. Defensively poor I thought.

They looked to keep their shape and started trying to spoil, three occasions players on the deck trying to disrupt us and stop any momentum building. As it turned out that run of corners we had got us the goal. I actually groaned a bit when I saw how deep the corner was but a good win from Batth, Roberts keeps it alive and Hume is there to head home. Been saying its a matter of time before he scores and he got one today.

Second half I think we started slowly, again a few moments for Patto which he dealt with magnificently. It was evident we needed changes. O'nien and Gelhardt came on and I thought the latter made a real difference. The ball hadn't been sticking at the top end of the pitch centrally and Gelhardt had a few he managed to flick on to find red and white shirts, it got us up the pitch and on to the front foot. We had the Roberts moment, a quality bit of play and a cracking ball from Gelhardt but it seemed to jump up on Pat a bit and he skies it. I was waiting for the sucker punch after that.

But its another moment of quality from us. I can't praise the ball from Clarke enough as it was class vision but Diallo still has so much to do. Cuts inside, ghosts pasts two and lashes it in the bottom corner. He won't be here next year but by God i've enjoyed watching him (little badge kiss in the celebration too!).

Cirkin gets a second yellow (50/50 on that one, hes in the way but Chong is happy to run straight in to him) and we're all expecting a nervy last 12 mins or so. Yet tbh I never really felt under massive pressure. They had more possession with the extra man and pinned us back a bit but there wasn't much smell behind the farting.

All in all a good three points.

We'll get into the playoffs and make the final because I booked my stag doo for the weekend of the final when it looked like we'd have no chance. Awkward red and white bastards!

This is a key point. Amads goal was a quick switch of play, he cuts in, takes an early shot and scores. When we move it quickly teams can't live with us.

I thought when O9 came on he started hitting balls harder n sooner up to the front men. Prior to that we dawdled about. The pass to Amad was superb.

PS, yes I know it wasnt him who hit the Amad pass.

That was a very good substitution imo. He brought a bit of urgency to us when it was flat for the first 20 mins of the second half.

Amads goal today was an absolute piss take. Heard Gary Bennett on the radio last week after we beat Cardiff on the post match phone in, he said no matter what happens this season (go up or stay in the Championship) it's been a successful season. He then alluded to how much we're getting noticed. opposition comms teams saying off air how good we are. Future looks Rosey.

Them 2 are scary how much they can tear players apart with them little short passes and flicks.

Would be wonderful having him on loan again playing off Stewart. Clarke, Roberts, Stewart n Amad is one scary fkn forward line.
