We’ve had a very good January window. Been watching the transfer program in sky. Everton signed nobody so far. Bournemouth look like bringing in seven. Forest busy again. It would be a big mistake to think we’re the only team likely to be improving in this window
Good point, the second half of the season is going to be interesting to say the least as really no one has been cut adrift.
Running around the man cave frantically locking the doors. Must find the crucifixes and garlic before it’s too late
Would I put KP in our current team no. But how quickly things change. Our poor position in the league and one of the excuses “we sold our best two players” now neither would make our starting 11 despite league position We’ve had a fantastic window, there are no hiding places and no excuses for Jesse now, he has to deliver
A bit of perspective, La liga has spent a grand total of 35m€ In this window. We spent that on one player! The premier league has so much more cash. **** knows how much chelsea have spent.
How do they get around FFP without the Russian money is beyond me Edit - Explained https://www.telegraph.co.uk/footbal...hin-ffp-rules-despite-500m-transfer-spending/
I think we leave it too long mate, take Joffy. He should have spent 6 months in the academy and then loaned straight out. We as a club have stunted his progress with too few U21 and 23 games as he’s been needed on the bench. Hopefully we can change that now with the January additions, we need to also be producing our own at a younger age, giving them some time in the U21s and loaning them out for back to back seasons then looking at them again. If not back to back at least a season and a half. When you compare Joffy to Connor Gallagher and how many competitive games Connor has played there is no comparison. We also don’t know what sell on fees the likes of Perkins, Joffy and Joseph have attached, until we can start producing more ourselves we’ll struggle.
need to sell some of the also rans that will never make prem standard.joffy and greenwood and drameh as all three i think are championship players.
Whilst this all makes sense, don’t forget our academy only really started (well, restarted) 5 years ago and we have only had the draw of being a Premier League club for the best youngsters for 3 years. Add to that, 16 years of non PL exposure on Sky, it is an uphill battle that the club are actually doing a great job to battle in my humble opinion. Unfortunately, this will be a patience game. A few more Willy type signings will bridge the gap but, also naturally make it even harder for the young ones to break through.
Have you done dry January? Your posts are really sensible at the moment, fair, reasonable and, dare I say, even verging on the positive
It was that Radz fecker. Spent a month of December in my head and all semblance of logic has disappeared. Has the makings of a horror film
