The only item on the agenda for this meeting should be him standing up and saying that nets have been purchased and are being installed ready for Saturday. Then he can apologise for it taking so long and close the meeting.
Heard a rumour that all season ticket holders are being provided with a catapult to fire **** back at the ****ers. Apparently it's more cost effective than a net and poses less of a threat to wildlife or those who identify as wildlife
Yep. We’ll have no bother off QPR, Norwich or Rotherham in the next few weeks. They might want it sorting for Millwall coming up next month, though.
I agree we won't get any bother off those, but it would still be reassuring for those below (and those considering buying tickets in the north) if they had some concrete plan to install it.
100% mate it needs sorting ASAP. The club are responsible for the safety of those in attendance… pay for the net!
Well I for one am staggered that Davison / the club are "looking into it" After all it's not like he has form for "looking into things" and not actually doing anything. Maybe he just isn't aware of the problem, like the at the last meeting
I'm past understanding how badly the club are doing here. The ticket office and the shop should be open 5 days from 10 till 5,9 till 3 on home match day and staffed accordingly. In the bigger scheme of things, how much would it cost? Peanuts! They'd recover any outlay+ with increased merchandise and ticket sales....not to mention the goodwill. As for the away fans,a number of us have been saying for years that the move to the top of the North Stand was a mistake. With the wrong fans in there, minority though they are, and every single team will bring them, it's a constant threat to our fans in the lower North Stand. I sit in the Southern end of the East Stand....there's no way I'd go into the North Stand. It's only going to be a matter of time until someone gets seriously hurt....extra training for the stewards just doesn't fill me with any confidence. I'm not a big fan of the netting....it's almost like admitting there's a problem and we have to cage people up because we can't come up with anything better. I can't remember....maybe someone can enlighten me as to why we moved the away fans up there in the first place? We want the SOL to be lauded for the magnificent stadium it is....not villified for its' prehistoric treatment of visitors. How Davison doesn't get this is beyond me.
SAFC fans wanted them up there to fill the lower bowl and not give their team close support from the pitchside. Ellis short agreed. I'd open the ticket office and club shop until 8pm a couple of nights as well to help people who work 9-5
Did 'we' ****, Oliver's Army ! I don't know a single fan who wanted them where they are housed now, and I've asked a few, 'cos it's ****ing dangerous and irresponsible, and it's ruined the atmosphere. It's also an insult to suggest that the trouble that it causes, and obviously would, is our own fault
I've seen some people say it was Shorts idea, but I disagree. From what I remember the fans were the drivers behind the move.
