"Watford are set to offer Ashley Young an initial 12-month deal if they secure promotion back to the Premier League." This rumour keeps coming back.
Watford have made Newcastle's Jacob Murphy a primary transfer target once promotion back to the Premier League is secured.
I am not sure this is the sort of move we will be making having been promoted unless we want cheap home grown back up if Gray/Deeney leave. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/w...ce-first-summer-signing-in-wake-of-promotion/
Going to be some interesting rumours in the weeks ahead.. Both in and out.. Seriously we need to get some very good players in...
Yes we do. I can't help but feel we've had a significant slice of the Good Fortune Pie this season, more than I can remember for sure. That's not to say we don't have a very good side but we weren't punished for the opportunities afforded our opponents as we might have been. We've not dished out as many tonkings as we ought I rather suspect that, the drab Ivic months aside, many of the score lines do not reflect events on the pitch. I do think this is the most skilful side we've had but I'm not convinced they'd beat the previous two promotion winning Watford sides on an average day.
It's always a risk, no matter where they are signed from - I think Gray has shown that. But I agree, I don't think this one fits the bill unless a few leave - I have a feeling that Troy, Gray, Perica, Success and possibly even Sema will all be moving on. And we have the horrible thought of Penaranda and Sinclair coming back from their loans to CSKA Sofia. I can't see any of them making the step up to be honest, not if we genuinely want to not only stay up but improve.
Luckily championship strikers can't finish... A lot of prep to do for the next season. Clearly the division this season has been quite poor apart from Norwich.. Who we beat twice! We def need a first rate striker... And a clear out of Deeney, Success, Perica and Gray... We will get fewer chances next season and we will have to take them.. Defensively I am not sure... We were good enough just in this division... But...
Chris Wood is a good example of a half decent PL striker can do if given a chance so yes we need to be shaper at both ends of the pitch.
Paper talk? https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/14758328/norwich-bristol-city-striker-saikou-janneh/
Watford currently expect to keep Ismaila Sarr this summer transfer window and are putting together an offer for Ashley Young who is keen on returning to the club in the coming months, Football League World has learned exclusively. The Hornets sealed their immediate return to the Premier League on Saturday afternoon with a 1-0 win over Millwall and they can now look forward to playing against the big boys once more in the top flight. Sarr was linked with such names last summer after their relegation from the Premier League but Football League World has been told that the Hornets are confident that they are going to be able to retain the attacker’s services for next season and fend off any interest. In other Watford transfer news, meanwhile, Football League World has also been made aware that an offer is being made to bring Ashley Young back to the club with him currently at Inter Milan in Serie A.
He is also on a free transfer and has apparently stated he wants to "come home" so wages will not be the biggest facter either.
I noticed that Callum Wilson liked and commented on Watford posts on Instagram about our promotion, I wonder if there is a deal on the cards?
May be priced out of that one. I think Blackburn's Adam Armstrong would be worth a punt - have been impressed by him over the last couple of seasons.
