Almost 30 yrs ago I bought this book with a few others to read on my holiday that was coming up. It was a really weird, spooky story, but interesting too. I later lent it to a mate to take on his hols and thought no more about it.., The book was by a guy called Thomas Harris, an author I’d never heard of. A couple of years later it showed up as a major movie - it’s title was the same as the book - The Silence Of The Lambs!

2 books on the go usually, one in the car incase I am waiting for someone and I hate waiting and other at home. Currently reading a book called The first 15 lives of Harry August about a man who keeps on getting re incarnated, good read
Red Dragon was a better read ... film was crap ... earlier version 'Manhunter' directed by Michael Mann with mesmeric film score was much better but they ****ed up the ending ...
I disagree. Mario Puzo was a great writer. Although this was one rare instance where the film was every bit as good as the book - it was still a great book.
Thanks, just googled that. Looks interesting, might try it. Just started Herzog by Saul Bellow - so far, a middle aged Jewish New Yorker is having a nervous breakdown following his 2nd divorce. And it's very funny.
Jaws was a great read and the film is a legend. The Amityville Horror was a page turner but the film was ****e.
I wouldn't know about horror books, I haven't read many - though I did enjoy Bram Stoker's Dracula. There've been some brilliant horror movies though. The Exorcist remains one of the best films of it's time imo.
Yeah scared the ****ing bejesus out of me that. Was probably only about 11 when I first saw it too. Also, although fairly tame by today's standards, Poltergeist ****ing **** me up proper when I was a lad.
Similar age to when I watched it and yeah Poltergeist was well scary...you seen the 2nd one? That old man walking up the drive singing that creepy song?
No haven't seen it. I used to watch loads of horror films and then when I was about 16 I started taking loads of LSD and just decided that I didn't need any of that horror stuff in my head anymore. Started dropping tabs and going to the theatre instead
