112 year old had a hip hop. What's the point, give it to someone younger, who would use it more. Should the NHS not just 'give up' when people get to a certain age? Especially for frivolous things like a hip hop. It's not as if shed be doing kartwheels instead of just being sat in a wheel chair all day anyway. It's not a case. Of Logan's run but its more like 'yeah you've had a good run, 112 is a grand old age but someone younger would benefit from it more'. Old people for the scrap heap?
Because she was probably in a lot of pain and it was ruining her quality of life. Of course she should have had the op. Clearly she had good overall health or they wouldn't have given her the op. Why should she be made to live with a disability just because of her age? Three words; Duty Of Care.
I dunno, how old is relic? Duty of care? To a woman who has been able to live to 112, what about bairns who need treatment and can't get it on the NHS? They have more to look forward to, or not as the case might be
Well I'll tell you this chum. My old mam is 77 & waiting for a hip operation. They can't do it until she has her second heart op. She is in extreme pain because of arthritis. What do you suggest I do, go & shoot her through the head to save the NHS a few quid? ****ing arsehole.
The NHS is supposedly there from cradle to grave.. We pay a lot into it through our taxes and national insurance so we don't have to discriminate regarding age etc.
What if it was your mother/grandmother or someone really close to you who was in extreme pain and this was a way in which to help her quality of life? Would you still agree with 'giving up' and chucking her on the 'scrap heap' to suffer till her dying day? I'm guessing the answer is no.
Thats what I was going to say as well regarding taxes NI contributions etc. Surgeons must think shes a viable proposition.
Yes, it's not a matter of opinion. The Government provide free health care to all so have a legal responsibility to up hold a duty of care. What about the barins who need treatment on the NHS? Exactly the same. Personal opinion doesn't mean ****, it's just the way it is, She's entitled to the care. It's nowt to do with your sick morals of neglect the weak and support the strong. Hitler had a similar look. What does that say about you?
After all, the only things she has done is lived through two world wars, survived the great depression, helped rebuild Britain after WW2 started up a car hire company and paid her taxes throughout.
Yeah I don't think the NHS should spend a penny looking after anyone aged 40 or above, they should be allowed to die off. I think they should concentrate on looking after younger people, the money could be better spent on giving us daily massages to ensure our young and still useful muscles are well kept. Sorry... Just wanted to see what the appeal to saying something utterly as ****y as the above was.
To be fair he has been very careful how's he's worded it. He hasn't actually given an opinion himself just given out targeted questions. It would be good for him to clarify what his opinions to are tot he questions he's asked. @Rick O'Shea?
atm all when and good whilst the NHS is free, (my opinion is it should stay that way) though once it's privatised living in pain will be the reality for the hordes that cannot afford treatment -once this greedy incumbent shower of ****e sell off the NHS to their 'rich elite friends' a hip replacement will cost as much as £50,000 going by US prices
Nar mate not yet, that's what we're waiting for. She had a pacemaker fitted years ago & earlier this year had two heart valves replaced. They now need to replace the pacemaker wires as her heart isn't pumping fluid from her body & it's collecting on her lungs. That's why she can't get her breath or walk for more than 20 yds without stopping to rest. They're reluctant to do the hip operation before that's done as she may well not survive it.
