Not sure about that, I have never heard anything bad about him off the pitch and his attitude on the pitch is just what a striker needs, if he misses he just shrugs but his head doesn't go down because he "knows" he will score the next chance.

Wouldn't bring money into it at this point, if Jose identified a need in our team I would expect us to spend what was necessary to correct it.
Perisic Inter clearly want to sell him but at a high price otherwise why keep him in the news? They will consider an unrefusable offer they say. No one else except United will consider paying £45m+ so they'd like to get an auction going. United have several options so it is fine balancing act for them. Do they keep to their asking price and risk a no sale or selling at a lower price and lose potentially several millions? I bet he'll go for £35m to a non-english club later in the summer if he's not sold to United.
I don't think Inter want to sell him, but he's clearly had his head turned by our interest. They are only willing to sell to us because otherwise they will be stuck with a player who wants to leave. And only if we meet their valuation and they can find a replacement. If we don't meet their asking price I think he will stay with Inter, no one else will have the same kind of pull imo.
Would you rather Barkley than Mata? I see no other role or position for Barkley in our side. My own answer is no, I definitely wouldn't.
Everton has said he won't play for them again. Thereby reducing the price they can get for him. He could be good but he is too inconsistent and unreliable for JM 's taste.
