2000 left if you want a ticket you had better act quickly cus they sure are going to sellout. Tickets for City’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final against Walsall are now on general sale.Steve Cotterill’s side will visit Wembley on Sunday, March 22nd to compete against the Saddlers for silverware. More than 25,000 City fans have already secured seats during the initial priority periods, and general sale has already seen that figure rise to 37,000. Walsall, meanwhile, have sold 28,000 tickets.
Hopefully Walsall sell more to make a great atmosphere. Carlisle was rubbish in the Millenium the last time.
Will there be a record attendance? At our previous finals , the attendances were, 50913 in 1988, 54502 in 1986 and 75067 in 2000. The record was in 1988 when 80841 attended for a Wolves win.
At the moment 37,500 city 28,000 Walsall so we're looking at just under 66,000 and we'll probably reach the 39k mark and they'll get to 30k no doubt, so whilst it wont be a record breaker! (would have been if it was Preston I'd imagine) it will still be a great atmosphere and packed house, well our end will be anyway. Roll on the 22nd!
But if we get 39000 each does not the Stadium hold 90000 , there must be some 12000 "hangers on" somewhere?
Not a record for the JPT (and all the other names) final. But still a really good turnout, which proves yet again that the 92 club league system in England is unique and not found anywhere else in the football world. Second Divisions in all other countries are very poorly supported and contain Premier B teams, and in many countries, third and fourth divisions are regionalised public park leagues.
Sheff utd or Preston against us would have been a sellout. But full respect to Walsall great effort by them, must be plenty of day trippers to wembley from the midlands.
Previous JP Final attendances are 2007 59014 Doncaster 2008 56618 MK Dons 2009 55378 Luton 2010 73476 Southampton 2011 40476 Carlisle 2012 49602 Chesterfield 2013 43842 Crewe 2014 35663 Peterborough So it looks like a record
A more impressive record will be if we win, we will be the most successful team ever in that completion.
He is lovely really,i just don't understand why are fans don't realise the potential, and fan base for a quality side in the prem in a quality stadium which is coming. The potential is huge it just needs to be uncorked
Yes but in fairness that's never been a secret. And I have apoligiesed for being wrong, and in all honestly I've been arguing about city's support against Cardiff fans for a while. And I know they would of loved it if we didn't sell out, so I am really happy to be wrong.
