Phew..............that sounded a bit too close for comfort! Great to see LJ making impactful subs...both scored. Hope you all had a great day out at the New AG!
Ah well a good start at least with the last minute win. Probably can't judge too much from the first start but at least we got the 3 points and we move on and it will be interesting to hear the comments as to whether we looked the part. Well done lads the first 3 points on the run up to 90!
I have no idea why Wigan came out in the second half looking to escape with a narrow 0-1 win and try to park the bus. For the first game of the season I thought we looked good. For some reason I was convinced even in the 80th minute we were going to win the game. I should have put a bet on! Been wondering why my right Palm has been itching all day. Will have to play the lottery tonight!
Cheers R&W, nice to see the goals again. Great great win and came away from AG on fresh air. Abraham is, on first view, different class. Awful first half, we didn't have a clue except launching from O'Donnell to Joe Bryan, village. From 65 minutes we were unbelievably exciting and threw wave after wave at them. A G was a very special place today.
Really impressed with O'Dowda looks like he's going to be an excellent signing reminded me of Albert when he first joined. Liked Gary O'Neil once he worked out the other players wasn't clever enough to understand his dummies. I was worried about Hordur throughout the game, didn't inspire me but on reflection back he wasn't that bad. Tammy Abrahams is like watching Drogba without the diving, love the fact he's set a 20+ target this season. Brownhill looked OK, liked it when he lost ball via a sloopy mistake then hunted it down and won it back. Enjoyed the last 25 minutes real edge of the seat stuff, like Ibodyslam says, I just felt we was going to get back in it. Typical that it was player we was chasing who scored for them. Here's a question, looking at the team today and bench, which one will lose out when Smith returns?
But the question was who out of the team today including subs would you drop not the starting eleven. It's a no brainier Smith will be in the starting 11. It was really highlighting that we're now getting a squad together not just team.
Standard away team tactic. Get the first goal and defend it. Great win today, good to see Abraham get his first goal, will do his confidence the world of good and only benefit us! Burton up next and before today I would have said possibly our easiest game of the season but seeing their result this afternoon, granted they lost, it's now obvious we'll have another tough game! We should win it though and I'm hoping we do as the next 3 games don't look so kind!
Yeah I know but it was pretty even Stevens at half time I thought. At 65 mins we looked so dangerous it was time to change the tactic and try to end the game. Not complaining but if I was a Wigan fan id be livid as it must have been like waiting to die because that goal was coming!
