For those that are interested here's the link to the Airco for All Facebook page. It explains what our City will lose when Allam gets his way. It also explains why Haltemprice isn't an alternative. If you support their campaign, please give it a like. https://www.facebook.com/AircoForAll
Could Obadiah or someone link us to somewhere that shows us how much these groups actually pay to use the Airco Arena compared to using a council or privately run facility? I ask because a source told me yesterday that they are only there because it is heavily subsidised. Also where on the AircoForAll page is the link to any football?
I don't live in Hull so obviously it doesn't affect me. But some people keep saying it is a community stadium owned by the people of Hull. So how is it right that a part of the facility an be altered for use by a football club raking in millions when it entails kicking off various other sporting groups. Imagine the outrage of City fans if this was happening because of Hull FC? It is a case of Allam using the SMC to get City something on the cheap. As Imsay doesn't affect me but we both know people who make a big issue out if the KC being " our" stadium, the our being the people of Hull and how it belongs to them. It appears it isn't their stadium but Mr Allam's. I obviously would put City before everything else but it shows how wrong the assertions of the likes of TFT are.
It does nothing of the sort. You're not stupid, so I can only guess why you repeatedly try to misrepresent the argument. If it's as you claim, see how far you get in putting a bid in to buy it from him.
So why do TFT and the others claim it is their (the people of Hull's) stadium? Do the people of Hull approve of people being booted out for City's benefit, bearing in mind that only a minority support either City or the rugby team that play there?
The people of Hull own it according to TFT and others. So, do,they approve of these other sports being given notice?
Back to pedantics are you Dutch? It's pretty clear what he meant, and a bit of a non point to pick bones over. All I'm saying is please don't start one of your old thousand page arguments over choice of wordage.
I think to be fair to Castro's Coffin he's asking whether TFT is going to help try and stop the evictions. We all know Hull City Council own the Arena and the SMC lease it from them.
This may explain why the school 5 a sides have been spread over less nights this year and the strictness on teams entering.
If a private owned company with a net income of £85m had evicted countless sporting organising from public owned multi purpose sporting facility. Then turned it into a single purpose facility for it's own use they'd be absolute uproar. It's seems to be more acceptable to some people because it's a football club and not a standard company.
Isn't it the SMC that is evicting the current tenants? It seems to me that when the leases and agreements were drawn up those people at Hull City Council never envisaged that any future owner of the SMC would do anything for their own benefit, sporting or financial, to the detriment of the wider community.
